I love the little glimpses of other characters that you brought in--and all are in character, even Shigure, who is a bit darker than we usually see in canon, but not outside of what I consider an acceptable range. Rin's fear of discovery is palpable and makes for a great bit of tension at the end. I like the way that tension is not really resolved--it feels like she's safe enough to give some closure, sitting there with the German book and a ready explanation, but she still must be watchful. Her fear isn't and can't be eased, and that comes across well.
I *love* writing Rin and Shigure--I stick by my belief that he's disturbingly honest with her, compared to how he is with just about everyone else. ^_^ (Post-series fic is happily bubbling away at the back of my head.)
And it sounds like you got from it exactly what I was hoping for at the end, so yay! *^^* I'm glad it worked for you.
I really liked this. I'd never seen that moment dealt with--the one where Shigure finds out about Rin and Haru. I love the way it was handled, too. Shigure was very Shigure, making it clear he knew and at the same time warning her that the information can be used against her. Very nice! ^^
(Oh, and it's good to hear that you're feeling better!)
I seriously wasn't expecting him to find out in this fic (but then, I wasn't expecting him ^^), so I'm not sure it's exactly my personal fanon about him finding out, but we'll see. It seemed to tie it together, so I went with it. ^_^ It's always reassuring to hear that "my" Shigure worked for people other than me. *grins* *hugs*
. . . I have to leave for my bus in twenty minutes and I'm *still* not sure I'm up for going to work today. (I'd say I hate the uncertain how-sick-am-I stage more than anything, but then I think about Sunday, and . . . yeah. This is fine. *wry*)
That was very beautifully written. I really enjoyed the Shigure and Rin interaction. He *does* seem more honest with her than with the other members, doesn't he? And of course the Haru and Rin moments are ever so sweet. Please keep up the good work.
^^ I'm still trying to figure out *why* he's so straightforward with her--because he respects her? Or because he doesn't? (I lean more towards the former, but he's certainly insulting with her in canon. >.>)
I liked this very much. I love to see Rin so open and caring, and Haru being able to accept it. I also love the way you write Rin and Shigure; their relationship is a bit of a mystery to me that won't be explained now in canon, so I always love when you include it.
Oh, I'm so happy to hear this! Their relationship really interests me and I think you do it justice. Or at least we think about it in the same way, basically. ;)
