For them, them never really needed words. Their affection was evident to each other without having to voice it. After all, actions do speak louder than words.
Makoto knew just by that grin that Duo gave her. Yes, the braided pilot was one to always grin and smile at others. But it seemed that he held a special grin just for her. It held a hint of playfulness along with seriousness, to express that he did hold her on some higher level.
Yes, he was a flirt. But that was all in fun in games. And Makoto knew it was never serious, and Duo made sure that she knew that. That the girl that he came home to was the one that he wanted.
The same could very well be said for Duo. He knew that once he laid eyes on Makoto, that he would not be able to find someone better. She was a great athletic, fantastic cook, and her eyes…
The first thing that Duo noticed was that Makoto’s emerald eyes glimmered when she smiled. Really, smiled. So Duo would always make sure that he could be the one to make her smile like that.
It was true, that they cherised each other, although they weren’t sure if they would cross over to the word ‘beloved’. And neither hardly embraced each other, but that didn’t matter; because each knew how the other felt, and that was all that mattered. They didn’t need to prove anything.
