"Capturing Dark could end all of your misery, Satoshi. Capturing Dark could get rid of Krad, could lift the Hikari curse for eternity!" Kei cries. Satoshi can tell he tries to sound caring as opposed to impatient, but he sees right through all of it.
"I know. Trust me. I am trying to capture Dark as soon as possible," Satoshi replies, creating a lie of his own.
"You must not be trying hard enough, because he's still out there, stealing everything your ancestors worked so hard to create."
"I am trying," Satoshi repeats calmly.
"Look, Satoshi," Kei says, placing his hands on his son's shoulders. He sighs, then continues, "Don't waste the only chance, the only life you have. Try harder, and you will succeed. I know you will. If you don't try harder, well, just remember that you're not immortal. You're not invincible. If you don't try harder, you may not even live to see the happy ending you deserve."
Satoshi removes his father's hands. Quickly, he turns around, and starts to leave the room, thinking that he doesn't need the insincerity, doesn't need the constant reminder.
"I know."
