Time for a lenghty life update

Bangface Weekender
Bangface was as awesome as usual, slightly more awesome than usual in fact because Alan brought a rig and did a chalet party, playing at this was big fun

I am not Jangling Crotch Dan. Tom wore a mankini. Didn't see a lot of music.

Redundancy
I was made redundant by the Forensic Science Service at the end of May 2011. The company was shut down by the government, looks like I was a victim of the ConDem cuts after all. However I got a hefty redundancy for my 6 years there so was very pleased with the way things turned out

Transahara Festival
At the end of May I travelled to Morocco with Matilda to play at a festival in the Sahara desert. We spent a few days in Marrakesch the capital city also. It was my first visit to a developing country and was interesting if a little stressful.
The festival itself was awesome but a massive ordeal in general, 13 hour coach journeys over mountains and deserts, no sleep, badly organised, sandstorms, cold, sand, hot, sand, wind, sand, also sand. My set went pretty well tho and it was a great experience all round, epic

Sunrise Festival
Next came Sunrise festival, another first for me. Awesome festival full of awesome people, my set was the graveyard shift which was a bit of a shame but it was worth it for a free festival. Would definately go again, saw Lamb play and Shpongle do a DJ set which was really cool. He just put the CD on, perfect, no faffing around trying to make it work live.

Glade
Just attending this one.. first glade for two years due to the cancellation last year. It was smaller yet incredibly spacious. Again didn't see much music at all just did the usual hedonistic mashup surrounded by some of my favourite people.
Met Ott, that was cool.

New job
I got a job after 5 weeks uneployment. Developing medical practice management software (C#\ASP.NET\SQL). It's an awesome job 20 mins walk down the canal from my house. Really cosy, just a few employees who are all really sound, casual clothes, flexible hours, and challenging interesting work. Landed on my feet really.

Sziget
Poppy came to Hungary with me this year, we spent a couple of days in Budapest staying at a hotel exploring the city. Went to some geothermal baths, ate out (nom nom), had some drinks, wandered around the city. Pretty cool place. The festival was also big fun again, my set wasn't so fun this year as I was playing 5pm-7pm in the chill out garden, so many people were at the main stages or half asleep / lounging about, wasn't really playing to an audience in the same way

Coming up
Waveform off for me due to downsizing, Eartheart festival is my one remaining gig of the summer.

ION.. working on new album, trying to lose weight, trying not to spend all of redundancy at once. Teh usual. u?
