so my advice to everyone: never take a road trip that is eighteen hours long, with nine of those hours being all night long. dear god. i was actually on the freeway dodging TRAFFIC-yes, there's even traffic at this hour--at four a.m. it was terrifying. there was fili in the next seat, crashed from driving the majority of our trip, and me trying to keep my huge red tahoe from slamming into other cars. first time on a freeway. i'm not too good at driving among lots of speeding cars, especially when it involves quickly dodging them to change lanes and make an exit. so needless to say, i definitely did not need my first lesson to be at four in the morning after an entire day and half a night of driving, and me nearly falling over from exhaustion. coffee is my friend. and i ate so many granola bars, because chewing kept me awake. it was scary. i will never willingly do it again.
but it was worth it. now israel lives with us, and it wasn't the major life change that i thought it would be. he goes to work with fili so i still have my day for whatever, and he isn't rude or anything. he is such a sweetheart. it's actually like having a second fili around, ornery traits and all. they sit on the couch, practically mirror images of each other, laughing the crap out of themselves over something i didn't get because their conversation was too hysterical to catch. i saw him washing his own dishes. he spends forty minutes taking a shower because he's scared he'll get water on the bathroom floor. i caught him trying to hide his dirty laundry so that he could sneak back and wash it himself so i wouldn't have to. his laundry pile could fit in the palm of my hand. i told him to relax. but he keeps to himself and i haven't felt any regret about his moving in with us.
except for the fact that i have to be totally dressed at all times. i can't just wander around in my robe and bra-less camis anymore. no biggie, i guess.
