State of the Union

So I watched as much of the State of the Union as I could.  Two minutes later I felt this distrubing wave of neausa...

After what, six years, the President says, "...and I think we should appoint a committee to really examine the state of our social security system..."

Now, play along...say you were President.  It doesn't matter what your background is, just imagine yourself as President.  You'd be looking around, wondering how the hell you were going to run the country.  Then, you would think, "Hey, ya know what I should do...since I've got the resources of all the free world at my fingertips, I should hire the most intelligent economists I can find, and ask them what they think about social security in the U.S." and you would do that, right?  Yeah, you would have done that at the beginning of your first term.  Well, the President just had his "ah-HAH!" moment...six years into his role as leader of the free world.  And if you're a Democrat, and you're laughing with me, chances are you should shut your mouth.  Kerry would have made Hillary Clinton the FEMA director, and you know what?  she would've have f'ed over the black man too.

Then, bush says, "...we are addicted to oil.  We need to investigate alternative energy sources."

Ok, fact: The President's energy bill, passed last year, gave billions of dollars in tax breaks to energy (oil) companies.
Fact: Oil companies (Exxon) turned the largest corporate profit ever ($30+ billion) this year.

The best thing Bush has got going for him as that people think he's an idiot.  If the guy knows one thing, its taking care of his type of people...oil-rich type of people.  His cop-out is looking like a goof-ball on national television...I mean, nobody THAT stupid could enrich himself and his colleagues at the expense of a nation....uhh, right?
