“I’ll wait out here,” Sungmin said when they entered the dorm.
“Okay,” Hangeng acknowledged him as he headed towards his bedroom. “I’ll be out in ten seconds!”
Sungmin nodded, not that his hyung could see, and began humming a song that had been stuck in his head all week. He sighed after humming the tune twice and looked around for something to do. “Huh,” Sungmin spotted the mandarin book of the coffee table in the living room and frowned momentarily. It was odd… Sungmin had thought that Donghae stayed home to study. Maybe he was just really tired and turned in early?
Sungmin sighed again and looked down at his watch. Hangeng was sure taking his time. He turned when he heard the front door open and the other three come in. He blinked. “Okay, I know we weren’t gone that long…”
“Ha, ha,” Heechul laughed mirthlessly.
“We’re just using the restroom,” Siwon smiled as he headed down the hall.
Sungmin nodded. “I’ll be back,” he had decided to go hurry Hangeng along. “Hey hyung?” He rapped lightly on the closed door before turning the handle and entering. Only… “What the…?”
Sungmin blinked. This was not in Hangeng’s room. Not unless the man had done some serious redecorating lately. He swiftly turned his head to either side, quickly taking in the dark figures of three beds and children’s toys strewn about neatly. Yep: he was most definitely not in Hangeng’s room.
So then… Where the Hell was he?
It was dark, but moonlight spilled in to illuminate a large square on the floor before him. He looked down and realized he must have been standing in front of a window. … Hadn’t he just entered that way? Aish; why was he so confused? He jumped when he discovered his shadow stretched out before him. What the- That was not his shadow!
He calmed his breathing and shook his head. What was he thinking? Of course it was his shadow; that was clearly his build and silhouette but… what was up with the hat and the… He looked down at himself this time almost afraid of what he would see.
Yep, he thought. This was why he shouldn’t have looked. Instead of the tight jeans and pink t-shirt he had been wearing moments ago he was now in… in… oh dear lord, he was wearing actual tights! What the fuck?! What was going on? And why was-?
“S- S- Sungmin?”
Hangeng’s nervous yet familiar voice brought Sungmin out of his mental panic. He quickly lifted his head up and glanced around the room. His eyes fell to the canopy bed and his mouth fell open. “Hangeng… why are you wearing a woman’s nightgown?”
“I don’t know!” Hangeng hissed hysterically as he slid out of the bed he was in and hurried across the floor to where Sungmin was. “I was just leaving the room when suddenly… I was in bed? Does that even make sense?”
Sungmin shook his head. Nope; that didn’t make any sense to him. Then again, not much made sense right then. Did he somehow hit his head? … That was a possibility.
“Sungmin? Hangeng?”
Sungmin and Hangeng tensed before turning their gaze to the other two beds in the room and seeing a very confused Siwon and Ryeowook occupying them. “Um…” Sungmin was a bit lost for words. Then again, the others seemed to be lost for words as well so…
“Why am I in pink footsy pajamas?” Ryeowook quirked an eyebrow down at his ensemble as he and Siwon too got out of the beds they were in and made their way towards Sungmin and Hangeng. “Then again,” he stifled a giggle when he saw Hangeng’s frilly blue … dress? Okay, so he knew it was a nightgown but honestly, it looked more like a dress to him; especially with that bow in the back. “I think I’ll stick with the footsy pajamas.”
Hangeng glared at the eternal magnae. “This isn’t funny.”
“We shouldn’t be teasing each other,” Siwon said as he tried to forget the fact that he was also somehow in a long white nightgown himself; though at least his was for men. “Although… Sungmin, why are you dressed as Peter Pan?”
Sungmin blinked before looking down at his horrendously green outfit again. “Is that who I am?” Siwon nodded. “Huh… I have no idea,” he shrugged.
“I think the real question here,” Hangeng snapped. “Is why are we seemingly not in the dorm anymore?! And ‘Peter Pan’? That’s a cartoon, isn’t it?!”
…
“Oh shit.”
“That would mean…”
“What the fuck?!” A very familiar, very pissed off voice shrieked from behind Sungmin. All four of them jumped before turning to stare with wide terrified eyes at a Heechul who was… dressed as Tinker Belle; complete with the puff balls on his slippers. “Would someone please,” he growled through gritted teeth, “tell me why I always seem to be the woman?!”
. . .
“If it makes you feel better… I think Hangeng is supposed to be a woman too…”
. . .
“Oh, when I get my hands on Donghae he is dead… DEAD I tell you!!”
“Wait…” Ryeowook gasped. “Donghae. How did he… he’s banned from cartoons isn’t he? How did he…?”
. . .
”DONGHAE!!!!”

Part One - Flying Lessons
There was a loud rumbling growl heard by the four men sitting together at the table. Three of them turned to stare at the youngest. “Sorry,” Henry apologized. “I’m really getting hungry.”
“Yeah,” Yesung agreed. “Me too.”
“We should get more water?” Zhou Mi suggested.
“If I drink any more water I’m going to turn into a fish,” Kyuhyun replied. “What we need is actual food.”
“But the others aren’t here yet…”
Kyuhyun groaned. “I don’t care.”
“Me either,” Henry rubbed his stomach which had growled again. “I don’t think they’ll mind if we start without them.”
“I think we should just order,” Yesung put in. “If I have to tell our waitress we’re not ready one more time…”
“Okay, you have my vote too,” Zhou Mi gave in. “Let’s get the waitress over.” Yesung had already raised his hand to tell the waitress they were finally ready before Zhou Mi finished speaking.
“I knew that they’d be late,” Kyuhyun said after their waitress had left with their orders. “I mean Heechul was this them. But this is ridiculous, even for hyung.”
“An hour is a little outrageous,” Yesung nodded. “I thought they’d be twenty minutes at the most.”
“You don’t think anything happened to them, do you?”
“Why would you think that?” Henry frowned.
“No reason,” Zhou Mi shrugged.
“They’re probably just at home, waiting for Heechul to finish his hair.” Yesung said.
“Yeah, you’re probably right,” Zhou Mi smiled. “I guess I was just worried since they’re so late.”
…
The others grew quiet and threw Zhou Mi a nervous look. “Yeah but… No, I’m sure they’re fine,” Kyuhyun assured them all.
“Okay,” Henry nodded. “Now say it again, like you mean it.”
“…”
“Let’s eat quickly and hurry home,” Yesung suggested.
“Yeah.”
“Sounds good.”
“Okay then.”
**…..**…..**…..**
“Okay,” Siwon said. “Let’s not panic.”
“Easy for you to say,” Heechul hissed. “You’re not dressed like the neighborhood tramp!”
“Uh, technically Tinker Bell is a fairy, hyung.”
“Thank you Ryeowook,” Heechul said sarcastically. “Because that makes me feel so much better about the fact that I’m in this short strapless rag of a dress!”
“Hey, don’t shout at Ryeowook.”
“Shut up Sungmin.”
“Heechul, calm down.”
“I will not calm down! Stop telling me to calm down Hangeng!”
“Hey! If you haven’t noticed, I’m in a dress too!”
Heechul scoffed. “Sure. First of all, that isn’t a dress: it’s a nightgown. Secondly, it goes down to your ankles; it isn’t nearly showing off your junk to everyone. So you have no right to compare your outfit to mine!”
. . .
“If Yesung were here, he’d probably say ‘touche’ right about now.”
“Ryeowook…”
“Shutting up.”
“Hyung, your eye is twitching.”
“Thank you Siwon, I hadn’t noticed.”
“Really? ‘Cause it kind of looks like you’d feel that.”
“Of course I noticed!!!”
“If it makes you feel any better Heechul. These tights are very uncomfortable and kind of itchy.”
…
“Thank you Sungmin, that does actually make me feel a little better.”
“No problem.”
“So… Does anyone know what we do next?” Hangeng asked. “I mean, you know, what happens next in the story?”
Everyone looked at Heechul.
“Oh, so you all think I know?” . . . “Okay, maybe I do.”
**…..**…..**…..**
“Teukie hyung?”
“Yeah?”
“Who do you keep texting?”
“Hangeng.”
“Why do you keep frowning then?”
“He isn’t answering me.”
“Huh… He went to dinner with the others, right? Maybe he’s just busy eating?”
“Maybe… Shouldn’t they be done now though?” Eunhyuk shrugged. “You don’t think something happened, do you?”
“What could happen?”
“I don’t know… I just have an odd feeling.”
“Your leader senses are tingling?” Eunhyuk joked.
Lee Teuk smiled. “Maybe.”
“Well why don’t you text Shindong and ask him to head straight home after he gets done recording? He should get done soon and he can make sure things are fine for you.”
“Great idea, I’ll do that next break.”
“Why not now?”
“Because we’re on in five seconds.”
“…”
“Welcome back~ You were listening to Dong Bang Shin Ki.”
“I saw them performing that song at their concert,” Eunhyuk said without missing a beat.
“Oh really? I didn’t know you went.”
“Well, I wasn’t actually there, but I saw the performance with my computer.”
“Oh~ Internet!”
“Internet!”
**…..**…..**…..**
“Flying?!”
“Uh uh.”
“No way.”
“Not going to happen hyung!”
“Flying?!”
“Last time I checked, I wasn’t a bird.”
“I’m afraid of heights.”
“Flying?!”
“I can’t fly!!”
“Look, I’m just telling you all what comes next in the movie. Peter, a.k.a. Sungmin, teaches the Darling children how to fly so they can all go to Neverland.”
“Well we can’t do that.”
“I know this, Hangeng! Don’t you think I know this?!”
“Okay, let’s all just take a moment and try to think of a way around this, okay?”
“Good idea, I agree with Sungmin.”
“Big shock there.”
“What’s that supposed to mean, hyung?”
“You know what it means, Siwon.”
…
“That I agree with Sungmin?”
“Yeah,” Heechul rolled his eyes. “Sure. That was what I meant.”
**…..**…..**…..**
“Is it me, or is it taking forever to get the check?”
“It’s you.”
“Oh… okay.”
“Hyung, calm down; everything is going to be fine.”
“Yeah, what is the worst that could have happened?”
. . .
“Wasn’t Donghae hyung home with them?”
. . .
“You don’t think…”
“No… No, that couldn’t possibly happen again, could it?”
. . .
“No way…” Henry laughed nervously.
. . .
Four hands raised into the air. “Check!!!”
**…..**…..**…..**
“So, you’re idea is we simply pretend we’re flying? What, like run around the room with our arms out making airplane noises?”
“Yeah, kind of.”
. . .
Heechul shrugged. “Why not? It’s not like anyone else thought of anything better.”
Ryeowook raised his hand. “Hyung?”
“Yes?”
“I get how running around the room will work. But what do we do when we’re supposed to actually ‘fly’ out the window?”
. . .
“Oh, fuck.”
“Everyone keep thinking!”
**…..**…..**…..**
“What did Shindong say?”
“He said he’d drop by.”
“Great.”
“Yeah…”
“You’re still worried aren’t you?”
“It’s what I do!”
“Okay, okay; calm down. Or at least… pretend you’re calm because we’re going on again.”
“…”
“We’re back~!”
“Oh, I love that song~!”
“Me too. I hear it and I want to dance.”
“What kind of dance could one do to that song?”
“Like… this?”
Lee Teuk laughed. “You looked like a snake!”
Eunhyuk laughed. “It would look better if I was standing, maybe.”
“Oh, yeah, probably.”
**…..**…..**…..**
“Okay… that idea is ridiculous.”
“Do you have a better one?”
“. . .”
“Okay then, so it’s settled.”
“But what if it doesn’t work?”
“Then we’ll just climb back in.”
“Sure, easy for you to say.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It’s supposed to mean that you have a bit of an advantage when climbing back into a building, Siwon!”
“You make it sound like I’m Spiderman.”
“Well, look at your muscles, and then look at Ryeowook.”
“Hey~.”
“Sorry Wookie. I’m just saying, out of all of us, Siwon is a bit better equipped to climb back into buildings.”
“That’s okay,” Ryeowook shrugged. “It’s true.”
“Okay,” Siwon waved his hands. “How about this? If it doesn’t work, I’ll climb back in the room and then I’ll pull Ryeowook in?”
“Just Ryeowook?”
…
“I can pull you back in too hyung.”
“Okay then.”
“So we’re doing this?” Hangeng asked.
“We’re doing this.” Sungmin confirmed.
**…..**…..**…..**
“I wish the driver would go faster,” Kyuhyun whispered as he gripped Zhou Mi’s hand in the back seat. “I’ve had a bad feeling all throughout dinner.”
“I know,” Zhou Mi whispered back. “Me too.”
“Aish, I hate not knowing if they’re okay or not.”
“At least I know you’re okay.”
“You’re such a sap.”
“He says with a smile,” Zhou Mi sung softly.
Kyuhyun hit his arm. “Shut up.”
“Make me.”
“Not in front of Henry.”
It was Zhou Mi’s turn to hit Kyuhyun. “That’s not what I meant,” he hissed.
Kyuhyun smirked. “Too bad…”
Zhou Mi hit him again.
**…..**…..**…..**
“Huh.”
“What is it?”
“I just got a worried text from Lee Teuk…” Kangin frowned.
“Really?” The actress rehearsing him asked. “What is he worried about?”
“I don’t really know; I can’t understand it. It’s pretty much an incoherent puzzle.”
His partner frowned. “Do you want to cut rehearsal short and see what it is?”
“I probably should…”
**…..**…..**…..**
“Ow.”
“Aish, sorry.”
“Hey, Siwon can you tighten this?”
“Why do I have a bad feeling about this?”
“Ah! Not so tight!”
“Sorry!”
“Which bed does this get tied to?”
“That one, it’s closest to the window.”
“This really doesn’t look safe. Are you sure it’s safe?”
“Sure… I think.”
“You think?”
“I saw it in a movie once.”
“Oh, great. We’re all going to die because you saw this in a movie!”
“Hey, stop fighting.”
“Wait. What thread count are these sheets?”
. . .
“Does it matter?”
“Well the higher the thread count the sturdier the sheet right?”
“So what you’re saying is if the thread count is low then…?”
“Dun, dun, dun~!”
“Oh shit! What if this is a low thread count?!!”
“All the better to plummet to our dooms with.”
. . .
“Ow! What was that for?”
“For scaring Ryeowook.”
“Oh, like everyone else wasn’t thinking it?!”
“Okay, enough! We’re ready.”
. . .
“Ready. As in… Ready?!”
“Oh shit.”
**…..**…..**…..**
“Ah, come on! What is this?”
“Yesung, calm down.”
“I’m sorry it’s just… a traffic jam? At this time of night?!”
“I know, it’s frustrating; but we’re not far from home, we should be there soon.”
“I hate traffic.”
“I hate mushrooms.”
. . .
“What? I thought we were sharing.”
“Oh god, he’s been spending too much time with Yesung.”
**…..**…..**…..**
“I don’t want to do this.”
“Me either.”
“It’s okay, we’re all doing it together.”
“Yeah, jumping to our deaths as one is really going to make me less scared.”
“Our deaths?” Ryeowook squeaked. “I thought the idea was not to die here?!”
“We’re not going to die,” Sungmin said as he gave Ryeowook’s shoulder a squeeze. “We’re going to be fine.” He glared over at Heechul. “Aren’t we?”
“Yeah,” Heechul tried to smile. He failed. “We’re going to be fine.” He thought he was going to throw up.
“At least we have some sort of life line,” Siwon said as he tightened the sheet end knotted around his waist. “When I had to jump off that building as Aladdin…” He shivered. “Never again.” Hangeng gave him a pat on the back. “Thanks.”
“What if the sheets tear?”
“Well…” Sungmin gulped before laughing nervously. “I highly doubt all of our sheets will tear…”
“We’re holding hands aren’t we?” Heechul pointed out. “If someone’s sheet tears then we’ll be there to catch them.”
Ryeowook nodded. “Okay then.” He looked green. “But maybe we should check the knots again?”
“I just got finished rechecking all the knots for the third time,” Siwon pointed out.
“Besides,” Sungmin put in. “You’d have to let up on the death grip you have on my hand to check the knots again.”
“Oh, right… Okay.” Ryeowook nodded. “Let’s just go then.”
Siwon took a step forward and stopped. He looked to his left when none of the others made any move to go forward. “Um… you guys?”
“I can’t do this.”
“I’m going to throw up.”
“Ew; not on me. Turn the other way if you feel anything coming up.”
“Hey, don’t tell him to turn towards me.”
“Is anyone going to jump out of this window with me now?” The other four turned toward Siwon and blinked. “What? It’s what we were just about do. So… let’s get to it.”
“Why is he so chipper?”
Siwon’s eyes widened in a comical expression. “I’m not chipper!”
“I don’t know, you don’t seem as worried as the rest of us.”
Heechul scoffed. “I bet it’s because he knows he’ll be able to get back in if this all fails.”
Siwon shook his head in denial at the accusations. “I’m not chipper! I just think that stalling isn’t going to do us any good.”
“Stalling?”
“We’re not stalling. No one here is stalling!”
“I am,” Ryeowook said. “I really really don’t want to do this!”
. . .
“Okay, so maybe he’s stalling.”
“Come on. On the count of three, let’s start forward.”
“Okay.”
“Wait. Are we walking?”
. . .
“I don’t think I’ll do it if we’re walking.”
“I agree; let’s run.”
“Okay, so then on three, we’ll run.”
“And jump. Don’t forget the jump part.”
“Right.”
“Okay, here we go.”
“Oh no.”
“One.”
“Ryeowook, breathe!”
“Two.”
“Why are you loosening your grip?!”
“I’m not!!”
“ . . . Three!!”
Five grown men inhaled quickly before sprinting forward ten feet and leaping out the open window. The cool outside air hit them harshly. It felt nice on their faces, for about a quarter of a second until they all plummeted downward.
“Ahhhhhh!!!”
