Title: ‘Aladdin?’

Author: Me! (2theChangmin)

Characters: Super Junior

Rating: PG-13 (for language)

Summary: Super Junior has a night off and decides to watch the movie ‘Aladdin’. But something suddenly goes horribly, horribly wrong…

Preface

As a child, he was forbidden to watch cartoons after dinner. He didn’t really understand why he wasn’t allowed to do so; he simply knew that it wasn’t allowed. His parents would exchange an odd look every time he asked them about this particular rule. He didn’t really care about not watching cartoons after dinner, to be perfectly honest. But he was very curious about it.

His curiosity over the matter faded slowly over time as he grew up and started watching non animated films. His parents never brought up the issue to begin with, so he just shrugged it off as an odd rule on their part.

He never thought that there had been a real reason for the rule. He never thought that perhaps he should still follow the foolish thing. He never thought that it would be dangerous for him to watch a simple movie…

Perhaps, he should have thought more.

Part 1

It was slightly chaotic in the Super Junior dorm. It was the first night off all of them had had in a long time, and by some miracle they were all together and in the same country. Which meant one thing: MOVIE NIGHT!

“Kyuhyun get off of the computer; the movie is about to start!”

“Where’s the popcorn?”
                “Ryeowook is making it.”

“Ow, Kangin, that’s my foot!”

“Where’s Eunhyuk?”

“Bathroom?”

“Siwon, you’re in my seat.”

“Ah~ Hyung, that’s my…”

“Sorry.”

“Who wanted popcorn?”

“I did.”

“Kyuhyun, if you’re not in here in five second, so help you…”

“Don’t sit here, I’m sitting here.”

“So?”

“Kibum, stop reading.”

“Ew, remove your foot from my face please.”

“What are we watching anyhow?”

“Aladdin.”

“Again?”

“Shut up! It’s a classic.”

“Will you all just be quiet?!”

“Kyuhyun!!!!”

“I’m here, I’m here.”

“Eunhyuk, sit down.”

“Shh!!! It’s starting!”

“I’ve never seen Aladdin in Korean.”

“Who just touched me? Somebody just touched me!”

“Who would want to touch you?”

“Ha, ha, very funny… Seriously though, who touched me?”

“Shh! No one cares!”

“I care!”

“… Like I said, ‘no one’.”

“Hey!”

“Are they always like this?”

“Who has the remote?”

“Kibum, I mean it: stop reading!”

“Can we put Chinese subtitles on?”

“No.”

“Ah, Kyuhyun! Do not leave!!”

“What the Hell?! Why did you just throw my book?!”

“Because you were reading!”

“Are we going to start this soon?”

“Aish, where did I put my-?”

“QUIET!!!”

Everyone shifted their attention to look at Lee Teuk who was standing in front of the large TV in the main Super Junior dorm’s living room. Lee Teuk looked at the other fourteen members who were situated in different positions all over the room. Correction: Lee Teuk glared at the other fourteen members who were situated in different positions all over the room. When everyone had quieted down, Lee Teuk nodded to Kangin, who pressed ‘play’ on the DVD remote. Then the group leader quickly made his way across the room to squeeze in next to Heechul and Siwon on the couch.

They all settled down more as the opening credits rolled in. Kyuhyun’s cell phone was promptly taken away from him by Zhou Mi and silently handed off to Heechul. The bowls of popcorn Ryeowook had just made up started to be passed around. And everyone tried to get comfortable in their slightly squashed spaces.

Donghae loved Aladdin. It was one of his all time favorite Disney movies, so he was excited to see it. He stifled a yawn behind his hand and leaned back against Eunhyuk’s legs. He was exhausted; SJM had only arrived back in Korea that afternoon. How was it that nobody else seemed to be as tired as he felt? Oh, well. Donghae was going to stay up no matter what… because they were watching Aladdin.

Yeah, this was going to be fun…

“… Donghae’s asleep,” Sungmin whispered as he moved the dozing guy’s head off of his shoulder.

“What already?” Kibum asked in disbelief. “The opening song just ended.”

“I know, but he’s out.”

“It doesn’t matter,” LeeTeuk said softly. “Just let him sleep, we’ll wake him up after the movie.”

“Yesung can you pass the popcorn?” Shindong whispered out of the corner of his mouth to the man who was sitting next to him a second ago.

“…”

“Yesung?” Shindong turned his head when he got no answer, only to discover that Yesung wasn’t there anymore. He blinked. “Hey guys, where did Yesung go?”

“What do you mean?” Ryeowook asked from across the room.

“I mean, he’s not here anymore. Did you guys see him get up?”

“No…”

“Hey, Kyuhyun’s missing too,” Henry noticed.

Zhou Mi looked at the empty space next to him in shock. Where had Kyuhyun gone? Zhou Mi hadn’t even heard the man getting up!

“Shh!! I’m trying to watch the movie!” Heechul exclaimed. “I’m sure they’ll turn up soon so just be quiet!”

‘Uh…guys? Where am I?’

“Shh…!” Lee Teuk ordered. “… Did you guys hear that?”

‘Hello?!’

“Is that … Kyuhyun?”

“Yeah, it sounded like it came from over there…”

Everyone turned towards the TV. At first nothing seemed out of the ordinary, The Cave of Wonders had just appeared. Then Hangeng suddenly pointed out the fact that Jafar wasn’t supposed to be looking around in confusion, was he?

The cartoon character faced the screen in panic. ‘Guys?!’

That’s when all hell broke loose.

“Holy fuck!”

“Kyuhyun’s in the TV!!”

“Why is Kyuhyun in the TV?!”

“Why is Kyuhyun Jafar?”

‘Guys?!’ Jafar, or rather Kyuhyun, asked again in panic. ‘Where am I?’

‘I think you mean where are ‘we’?’ The parrot on Jafar’s shoulder corrected in a very familiar voice.

“Oh, my…YESUNG!!!!”

“What the fuck is going on here?”

“Yelling solves nothing Heechul.”

Lee Teuk made his way over to the TV screen. “Kyuhyun? Yesung? Can you guys here me?”

Kyuhyun/Jafar froze and looked around. ‘Teukie? Teukie, where are we?’

Everyone was silent. “You seem to be in the movie.”

There was an expression you didn’t think you’d see on Jafar’s face ever: one of total and complete horror. ‘What?!’

‘Well that actually makes sense,’ Yesung said surprisingly calm. ‘I mean why else would I be a parrot?’

‘Get us out of here!’

“How?” Eunhyuk asked. “We don’t even know how you got in there?”

“Hey, the movie stopped.”

Everyone turned to look at Henry. “What?” Twelve voices asked at once.

Henry shifted nervously. “I mean, look at the background; it’s frozen. The Cave of Wonders was in the middle of its whole ‘only the diamond in the rough’ speech, but now…”

They all looked back at the TV. Henry was right. The whole background was frozen, yet Kyuhyun and Yesung, (a.k.a. Jafar and Iago), were moving. “Weird,” Sungmin whispered.

“This whole thing is weird,” Kangin pointed out.

“What does this mean?” Zhou Mi asked confused.

Everyone turned back to Henry. “What?” The Canadian asked. “Like I’m supposed to know?”

“…”

“Okay, maybe it means… And this is just a theory, but maybe it means that Kyuhyun and Yesung have to go along with the story line? Act as their characters until the end of the film?”

‘And then what? Get stuck in here when the end credits roll?!’ Kyuhyun yelled hysterically.

“It’s just a theory,” Henry defended.

“I actually don’t think it’s a bad one,” Ryeowook said. “It might work. Maybe when the movie ends you’ll come out again?”

‘What if we don’t?’ Yesung asked.

“…” Nobody wanted to think about that outcome.

“Let’s just give it a try, shall we?” Ryeowook suggested. “Kyuhyun, say your next line and let’s see if the movie starts back up.”

‘I don’t know the damn movie by heart Ryeowook; I’m not Donghae or Heechul!’

“Lucky for you, I am Heechul.” Heechul stepped forward. “Repeat after me.”

Kyuhyun said the line with a dramatic eye roll; something very odd for Jafar to do. The screen came back to life.

“Whoa.”

“Weird.”

Then the screen froze again.

“This would be your turn Yesung.” Heechul said.

‘So…We really have to act out the movie then?’ Yesung clarified.

“It looks that way,” Lee Teuk unfortunately told them.

‘And… What if…?’

“We won’t let anything happen to you,” their leader promised. “I mean, you know, besides you getting sucked in there in the first place,” he smiled weakly. “We’ll get you out of there.” He hoped that what he was saying would hold true. “If we can’t figure out how to get you out of there before the credits roll just stop acting out the movie; stall the ending until we figure something out.”

Iago nodded. ‘Okay, Heechul, what’s my line?’

The other thirteen were tense as they watched their two band mates finish the first scene. Nothing else could go wrong. Right? At least, they hoped that nothing else could go wrong. They watched nervously as Jafar and Iago faded from the screen to be replaced by a different image. It was even worse now that they couldn’t see their two trapped band mates on the screen.

Dozens of nerve wracking questions floated through the heads of the men watching. Such as: where had their friends gone? Did they cease to exist? How were the other thirteen supposed to save them when they had no idea how the two of them got into the movie to begin with?!

The music for ‘One Jump’ started. Then the movie froze again. Needless to say, everyone started freaking out and talking at the same time.

“What’s happening?”

“Why did the film stop?”

“Again?”

“What’s going on?”

“What the fuck is happening?!”

“Jafar and Iago aren’t even in this scene are they?!”

“No they’re not,” a very pale Heechul answered. He had the whole rooms’ attention immediately as he finished with a horrified expression. “But he is.”

Everyone turned back to the TV in trepidation, afraid of what they were about to see. ‘Aladdin’ was on the screen. And unlike the still background, he was moving. He had a round ‘deer in the headlights’ expression on his face as he looked out at the stunned living room.

‘Hello?’

Hangeng fell backwards onto the couch in shock, saying the one thing everyone was thinking. “Siwon.”
