wow... I haven't posted in my journal in over a year.... well it's been a busy year to say the least...let me give an update...

I finished up University and graduated in May with my BA in Anthropology and a minor in environmental studies... In hindsight, i wish i had picked a more practical major... or at least picked up a second major while i was slacking off a bit... I mean anthropology is incredibly interesting... but there really isn't much out there in the real world for a kid with a degree like me... as evident in my no working situation... but i'll get to that in a bit...

This may was a whirlwind of craziness... In April and may i Managed to study and finish all my University work, work 30 hours a week at the Coop, Move out of the mansion and back home, and organize a trip for myself and Sarah overseas to Turkey and England... on the tightest budget imaginable... Sarah organized everything once we were in Turkey... but i got all the plane tickets in order...

We went on two archaeological excavations... The first in Turkey was through UB and one of Sarah's old professors... Dr. Paley... who is the craziest old man you'll ever meet...First before going on the dig we went to Istanbul for 5 days... what an amazing city that was.... it was incredible... such a mixing of modernity and history... it was indescribable... we went to see all the fun sites and sounds... went to the bazaar, and the Hagia Sophia... countless mosques... and met a bunch of really cool hostel people...

the dig itself was with him in conjunction with a turkish university called Dumlupinar Universitesi... The dig was in the middle of the mountains on a government run coal mine... The majority of the student's working there were turkish... with only 5 of us from the states... Only one or 2 turks could actually speak english fluently... Others had basic english... but it was very difficult to communicate... The other americans and I worked really hard to learn as much turkish as possible... and by the end of the month we were able to slowly speak with one another... it was a Greek Hellenistic site we were working on... and there were a ton of ruins... it was a great learning experience....even if the weather was sweltering... some days it was over 100!

So after meeting a lot of really cool turkish students and waht not, we all went back to Istanbul, stayed there a couple of days... then Sarah and I went off to London to start our second excavation outside of Oxford in a little town called Marcham... I was there last year so I knew the site.... It was a lot of fun.... we lived in a tent for the better part of a month...There was a lot more manual labor here than in Turkey...because we didn't have hired workers like we did in turkey... we did all the digging and the shoveling... plus the weather was insane... it apparently was the worst summer england has experienced in like 60 years... Oxford got completely flooded while we were there.... like rivers in the streets... and us living in tents!!! THank god we were up on a little high ground so our tents didn't get completely soaked.....but it was quite a cold and wet experience.....

so Finally sarah and I get back to the states in August... after being overseas for over 2 months....
we move into an apartment in Allentown, Buffalo.... and proceed to look for some employment.... that was over a month ago... Sarah has a job working with kids with Behavior problems.....a tough but good job....and me......... UNEMPLOYED!!! WEEEEE

yeah it's a bit tougher to find a job than i had anticipated... but i'm sendin out my resume....applying and going on interviews.... so it's only a matter of time...

I feel that I'm gonna be able to update this journal on a much more regular basis.... seeing as how i don't have anything to do

So here are a few things i've figured out since i have nothing to do...:
-started playing my guitar on a more regular basis.... learning more theory and how to solo in different keys... i'm still a little slow... but i'm getting there

- taught myself html code... i sat down one day and decided it would be helpful if i knew how to make a website! so i found some tutorials and made some webpages...

-started making a cartoon... I was writing this back in college, but i decided to really give it a go... the premise is that two guys are tired of living in the states, save up some money and move to Amsterdam to start up their own Coffeeshop... it's a bit of a stoner comic... but thats not the whole basis.... check it out... http://www.goldfish420.tk check it out... (and i made it by putting my html knowledge to the test :-) )

so yeah... thats me in a nutshell... i'll be updating when i can... peace and love
