Defiance, New Orleans

56 people dead. 1.3 million homes lost. 76,000 people left with nothing. Hurricane Katrina ripped through New Orleans destroying homes and families,

i'm just gonna take this time and write something a little less selfish for once.

A couple days ago, I joined a philanthropy organization at FSU with efforts to contribute to hurricane relief. We are going to get all the performing arts clubs around campus to perform at a benefit to raise money for Katrina victims. I can't even fathom living in such devestation like that.... this is the best we could think up... and the least we could do.

It's difficult for me not to question God in times like these. So isn't this is where I kneel down and pray for him to make everything better... ? but where was he in the first place?
I apologize.
I wish I had the faith. but I just can't shake this.

It's like someone or something felt the need to lash out on America, but punished only two out of all fifty states and spared the rest of us.

Optimists may argue that everything happens for a reason.. time will reveal the truth behind the disaster. I just don't think I'm that patient.
