symbiosis between the organism and its environment is a cohesive, ultimately structural relationship that is organized, pattern-oriented, and open to inspiration. there are set containers within other containers, and the content in the containers is thought or action. one container is the body, the other is the bedroom, the other is the house, the other is the neighborhood; so on and so forth, and there is a little bit (or a lot, actually) in each of those "containers".
if i'm going to create my environment, i will know every corner of it as if it is my own body-for it is, in fact, part of my own body. "i" is much my than just my mind, or my collected biological organs, or even my spirit. "i" is the collected system of relationships, objects, natural happenings (ie the weather), people, and stored up memories, at the center of which is my phyiscal body and mental/spiritual person. i understand myself not as an individual that ends at my skin, but expands to encompass the mental, physical, and personal landscapes i traverse. "i" am part of the people i know, and they are a part of me. "i" am part of my school, and my school, me. "i" am part of the world, and the world is a part of me.
