Series: Homestuck
Character: Psiioniic/the Helmsman
Timeline: During his time as the Empress’ Helsman, but before the Vast Glub
Personality: Like all other aspects of his life, the Psiioniic’s personality is a study in duality. He can be light hearted and carefree, happy to just be alive, or he can be upset and worried, angry at the world. He can be apathetic and flippant towards the highbloods, while at the same time being kind to and caring for those at the bottom of the hemospectrum. He is prone to fits of rage and despair, feeling absolutely worthless and useless, and he feels as if he should have remained a slave, because that was the only thing in the world that suited him. He thinks very lowly of himself more often than not, but sometimes his ego seems to be overpowering. He can be moody and withdrawn, or charismatic and cheerful. He goes through his moods with no seeming cause, but he hasn’t been able to feel in quite a long time - after being grafted to Her Imperious Condenscension’s ship, his emotions were shut off and shoved away into the back of his mind so he could be a better Helmsman, and so after being freed his already volatile emotions will be more extreme until he can better control himself.
Background: Due to his low blood class and his exceptional psychic abilities, Psiioniic was destined to a life of slavery. He had accepted this, because he knew that this was what he deserved. Then he met a troll with no sign, who inspired him to break free from the bonds of his slavery and to work for a peaceful, unified Alternia. He became one of the Signless’ closest followers, and he devoted his life to his cause.

But then they were caught, and Signless was executed. The Psiioniic, being one of the most powerful in Alternia, was chosen by the Empress to be her Helmsman, instead of being shuffled away with all of the other lowblooded slaves. He was grafted into her ship, and powers it with his psychic abilities.
Abilities/Additional Notes: He is a powerful psionic (obviously), and as such he is able to project psychic energy in blasts, move objects with telekinesis, including people. He also hears the voices of the soon-to-be deceased and has visions of the future because of his vision two-fold.
Advocate Note:: Nope, not today.

Sample Journal Post:
[It hadn’t been hard for Psiioniic to understand the 3STP. He had seen the developments of Alternian technology second-hand, but he had always been a quick learner. He sets it to record video, but it’s obvious he’s still uncertain how to use it because the view of his face is awkwardly close.]

Tho… [He pauses to clear his throat and lick his lips. It should be obvious to anyone watching that he hasn’t spoken in a long, long time.] How did I…get here? I mean, I’m not complaining, but what’th going to happen when the Empreth findth me?

Or have I finally died and thith ith thome thort of afterlife?
Sample RP: He was…confused. He couldn’t remember how he had gotten out of the ship and free from the Empress, but he was happy. He wasn’t aware that what he was feeling was happiness, because he was quite frankly overwhelmed from feeling at all after being void of emotion for hundreds of sweeps.

He was also overwhelmed at actually being able to use his powers. He had taken to the air in his glee of being free from the sea witch, and had traveled around the city he had found himself in. He had stopped at a park, floating cross-legged above a bench (just in case he lost control and fell), and he was surrounded in the flickering red and blue glow of his psionics. He looked up, into the sun and the sky, starkly in contrast from what he remembered of his home. He wasn’t dying in the light of the sun, for one. A smile tugged at his lips, and for a moment, he was happy.

For a moment, he could forget about all the horrible things that had happened.
