With Valentine's Day around the corner we want you to think about love. Who do you love? What does it do to you? Does it lift you up like a bad cheesy power ballad? Does it destroy you? What does love do to you? What has it done to you in the past?
Love's not brains, it's blood. Seems to me, I said that, once upon a time, to another vampire with a soul and his Slayer as the three of us fought a pack of wandering vamps I'd had past association with. Never mind that I was using two of the Slayer's friends as hostages to get materials for a love spell.
Actually, no. Mind that. It's germaine to the topic at hand, I think.
Love's a funny thing. Not 'ha-ha' funny, mind. It's a peculiar thing. In the same breath, it can lift you, make you feel higher than the birds in the sky, just as easily as it can dash your hopes and dreams to bits on the sharpness of a look from the person you feel it for.
Trust old Spike on this one. He knows from both sides.
Love's gotten me in the worst sort of troubles. It's gotten me out of one or two in the past.
It's worth every scrape, every wound, every hole put in my body in it's service. Like the song says, "Did it my way".
