Why are people being difficult at the desk!!
AAHHHHH. this is the most annoying desk shift ever! there is some persasive speaking contest over at west 1 and 2 and this ancient old man has decided i'm his phone operator and should now coordinate getting the Beacon photographer over here to cover it. i've been playing his personal secretary trying to track down this photo editor to ensure its getting covered. the best part is, there is hardly anyone even there!! no one knew about this, so why bother covering it at all. and he's so pushy about it. He says he set it up a week ago, but i don't believe him and no one at the beacon seems to really know anything about it. and the second time i called the Beacon the idiot who answered the phone told me that she didn't have any contact information for the photo editor b/c the old guy wanted to make sure someone was coming. no contact information, come on. you can't be that dumb to think that the office has no way to contact it's editors. so i ended up finally getting the number, calling the poor photo editor, and he talked to her, and seemed to think that this was the most pressing event of all time and didn't understand why it would be hard for someone to come. nevermind that people have class and other committments. he's finally gone away, and i better be away from the desk by the time this thing is over and he comes out b/c there is def no one coming to takes photos and i don't want to have to deal with him again. argh, i hate people sometimes.
