Asuka? That's not a German name.

My mother was half German, half Japanese. But until recently I've lived all my life in Germany.

I've actually just recently moved to Japan thanks to my job as an Eva pilot. It was quite the culture shock. Can you believe they don't even have locks on the bedroom doors?! And they just slide right open and closed! Not even a latch! Talk about a lack of privacy!

What's an Eva?

The Evangelion, also known as Eva, is a mobile suit used to fight off creatures that have been dubbed "angels". There are three Eva units with a pilot for each one. I am the pilot of Evangelion Unit 02, the first ever Production Model Evangelion.

...ah. Like a Gundam?

I suppose, in a way. There are differences. Evas cannot be piloted by anyone over the age of fourteen - it rejects them. Also, Gundams are about 2/3 the size of an Eva.

...wow. That's fucking crazy. Why does it reject them? I rode in a Gundam last week.

Nobody knows exactly why. Or if they do, they're not telling us anything!
All three pilots are fourteen years old, including myself. Rei Ayanami, known as the First Child (or wondergirl); myself, known as the Second Child; and Shinji Ikari, known as the Third Child (or the idiot).

Really? I wonder if it's anything like an Eva on the inside. That would be interesting to find out~♥
