"KALDONIA: NEW EXCITEMENT IN NEW CASTLE?"

Mar 13, 2005 20:58

For the past 9 months, since the end of my last band- the Reversatiles broke up, I've done very as far as music goes except for the writting I do on a near daily basis and the need for musical clarity has been creeping around since then.

The idea first sprung up on me as I was "Jamming" with a local metal band while I was living in Hermitage but it never really left the trailer we were playing in.

The 2nd attempt/fullfillment came in a conversation with good friends and former THE RUNS bandmates (and current SCENE ON TV members)Ryan & Gino about starting a side project just for fun and a way for me to deal with the daily of near fatherhood. I figured that for me not to go absolutely crazy I would need an outlet. The conversation took place over coffee at Eat N Park, a local eatery in New Castle, and went from there. Last Wednesday came the first practice on the new project tentatively titled KALDONIA. The 3 of us "jammed" on 7 of old THE RUNS songs, 3 to be used later on 'cuz they never were properly recorded on any of THE RUNS 3 releases. The other 4 were just to have fun and play old songs from back in the day.

The lineup is Ryan playing guitar, Gino on drums and of course me playing bass. Ryan and I are sharing vocal non-talents...lol! The first 3 songs that are gonna be tagged under the name KALDONIA are as followed: EMILY (a fun, catchy pop punk song that was penned towards the end of THE RUNS, also a live fav-sang by Ryan), SAPPY MOVIES (an intense indie rave-up, slow mellow verses w/ explosive chorus & intense breakdown/end-sang by Me) and last but not least ROLLERCOASTER (another indie/punk sang by Ryan that kicks out one hella of a solo w/ one consistent bass line :).

We are going to practices pretty much in Gino's dads basement in New Castle every Wednesday for like an hour or so. So far so good, I hope for the best, and Angie likes us-which is funny since she is a harsh critic lol.

Take it all you readers.
Don't let the the door hit ya
where the good lord split ya!
