The time spent up in Frankfort/Benzolia was pretty fun overall, but dads got some issues that he has to work out, but either then that, it was beautiful!
We headed up yesterday morning(Mom, Dad, Nana and I) around 9ish, and got to our motel in Benzolia round 2ish. Thats including the time stopped for food, gas, etc... After dropping our stuff off there, we ventured around town and walked out onto the beach that melissa's wedding was going to be on later that evening, and what an amazing view of lake michigan.
Here's a little history... Melissa, 22, is the doughter of my uncle mike, my dads brother, who died when I was 2 in a motorcicle accident. Her brother Shan, 19, and sister Andrea, I think 25, moved up north after my Aunt Lori remarried to Dale Leonard(Uncle Buck) a few years after Uncle Mikes passing, to a town called Benzolia.
Melissa is getting Married to Jason Wittmer, 32. He's a very nice guy who's a little bit smaller then Melissa. Its funny, but if their were to be any beating, he'd be the one getting it lol, but I'm sure none of that will be happening.
The wedding took place at 8pm, on a beautiful beach shorring Lake Michigan in Frankfort. Now, Shane and Melissa don't get a long too well these days, but in my Uncle Mikes absence, I thought it very touching that Melissa would have no-one else but Shane to give her away, it was a great wedding. Something else I found very nice, was the first time they were introduced after Jason "Kissed the Bride," were as Mr. and Mrs. Jason and Melissa Chatterton-Wittmer. Amazing she keeps our name! WAH WHOOO!
The reseption was held at a place just down the road from the beach, and that was also great. In my days of growing up, I've never seen Melissa so happy in my life, and what touched me most was when nana commmented to Melissa on how beautiful she looked, in the dress that she made, and how proud and happy her father would have been of her, and how sad it was that he couldn't have been here to see it... Melissa's answer was "He saw it, trust me... He saw it."
Now I'm home, bored and tired, awaiting another text... Good Nite My Beloved...
