Here is an update since my last post a few months ago, even though nobody exists in the lj world anymore.
I got married.
Wow.
Yeah.
It's been four months and, quite honestly, being married is one of the best things I've ever done. It's love on a totally different level. Blows high school out of the water for sure. Being married is a selfless kind of love where you do things to make the other happy and their smile makes all the effort, struggle, and time worth it. It feels good to have a partner in crime. There is also a certain level of security marriage brings...like...you know you love them more than anything...but now you know that they love YOU more than anything. That realization is mind blowing.
Not only did I go ahead and get myself hitched, but I left home with a bang.
Got picked up, drove to Kansas, got married, and drove (30+ hours! DDDx ) to North Carolina where I now reside.
North Carolina is pretty awesome. They do some things weird but it works out alright. Marineville is pretty boring since the biggest thing here is the base and Lejeune is not a tourist destination if you know what I mean.
One main street has everything shopping wise and eating wise, and the surrounding area is...farmland.
What is kinda cool/dorky is that there is a town closeby called FARMVILLE.
Totally.
It's cool living in this area because we are so close to New England. It's a seven hour drive to Maryland. Virginia is close by, Washington DC, New Jersey, etc. Even New York isn't that far off, really. There are LOTS of awesome travel/touring oppurtunities that I defintely don't want to miss out on.
That's just a neat thing that one just can't take advantage living in Texas. It's so big. Seven hours barely gets you out of the state.
With everyone being from everywhere else the people can be pretty hit and miss. Yanks are rude, but they're good people. Guess they are just short and to the point.
I've made several new, good friends.
They happen to be in Chris' company, so none really I've managed to make on my own.
To be frank, making friends around here isn't really what I want to do.
Most women are Marine wives. While Marines LOVE corpsmen, Marine wives HATE corpsmans' wives. Go figure. My husband saves your husbands life and you hate my guts for it. Wow. Okay.
That and just about everyone here is PREGGO. Efffffffff thaaaaaaaaat. Some of these girls are so yoooooooung and it just drives me nuts. Sometimes it literally makes me crazy if a bunch of babies and preggos walk into a place where I am. Not. Cool.
Not that I don't want babies someday. That day is just not anywhere this year, next year, or the year after.
I do have a furbaby. Her name is Macy, or MACE!!! She's a red merle Australian Shepherd and she is the most fantastic dog ever. She's too smart for her own good and she knows how beautiful she is. She is great company. I lovers her do death.
We also have a polydactyl cat that belongs to my roommate but she's pretty much ours. He calls her Ketchup, we call her Titty. Not like a boob, but like Kitty, but...baby-ish. Bahhhhh. She likes to mountain climb our curtains and pounce on your face while you slumber peacefully.
I transferred jobs here and I thought it would be awesome, but it wasn't. It was the farthest thing from cool in the world. They were mean, and wouldn't give me more than 7 hours a week. EFF THAT.
So after much grief and lots of crying Chris told me to quit my job and so I did. Weirdest experience ever.
That's a totally different story.
I don't like being jobless, it makes me feel lame and useless. Being a stay at home wife does exactly what my friend Lisa said it did. Kills your soul.
It's great being able to spend time with Chris though, after almost a year of being seperated due to the Navy. Ultimately it makes me happy.
There is a plan already in motion though.
When Chris is deployed I'm going back to school to grab my thingy in medical office management. It'll take about the time of deployment and I can have a not lame job and make not lame money! 8D Sweet!
That's really about it. Not super interesting, but it is what it is.
Latez.
