Title: A lover's conversation
author: sabresgirl18
Summary: A players conversation with his lost love
A/N: I got this idea while talking to Z4rf3 on our way to Canada over the weekend. Something to write and make me feel better after finding out I didn't get my student loan and I don't know how to pay for college anymore even with my financial aid and scholarships.

The party finally died down. I started to help my family pick up the mess that was left when I heard someone talking. It sounded like my brother.

"I'm in love you!"

I heard him say. I was shocked. He wasn't dating anyone. I waited for a reply but I didn't get any.

"No! Don't say anything. You don't have too. I can't believe you went to my brother first! My younger brother! How could you!?"

Now I was officially confused.

"I stopped everything I could to have you. I put everything on the line for you! But you didn't budge. I thought we had something. The many nights we've talked. Just the two of us. How many times have had those kind of nights with my brother? None! I will have you though" He said in a low dangerous voice.

I never heard my brother so angry before. It scared me!

"By this time next year you will be mine! You will be branded with my name"

Branded!?

"Till next time, love" I leaned into the room to finally see who he was talking to and found him with the Stanley cup at least ten feet away from it.

"Ryan?"

He turned around with tears in his eyes.

"Drew. How long have you been standing there?"

"Long enough. You'll get it soon enough bro! You're a great goalie on a great team."

"Thanks Drew!" He turned back to the cup for one last glanceand walked out.

"You better give him a chance next season. He really likes you!"

I laughed to myself and left.
