Jo Malone - 2nd sniffing orgy
I had a sniffing orgy over Jo Malone's counter a little while ago, and liked waaaaay too many of the fragrances. So I had the "brilliant" idea of going for a 2nd round, and see if I could narrow it down a bit.
Well, the experience was different after all. Which is unsurprising, especially considering how many perfumes my poor nose was snorting each time. Some of the stuff liked the 1st time, I disliked the 2nd (in fact, my FAVORITE scent the 1st time, Sweet Lemon, was hated the 2nd!) And some stuff that I didn't care for the 1st time, got me VERY interested now. My opinion on others remained the same.
In the end, I wound up ordering samples of 11 different JM on The Perfumed Court (and there are 2 more that I want, making it a total of 13 favorites - sheesh!). Only 1ml of most for now, as I'm not made of money, 2.5ml of Blue Agava and Cacao (which I didn't care for at all the 1st time, but smelled *heavenly* on my skin after a few minutes drying out), 2.5ml of Lime Basil & Mandarin, and 5ml of my favorite: Nectarine Blossom & Honey. :-)
If I happen to adore any of them after using the samples, I'll buy more of it, but this should suffice for now.
Now for my notes:
- English Pear & Fresia - 1st sniff: :-) might be sample worth - 2nd sniff: not now
- Amber & Patchouli - 1st sniff: MAYBE a sample - 2nd sniff: YES
- Vetiver - 1st sniff: :-) sample! - 2nd sniff: YES (put it on wrist, great!)
- Orange Blossom - 1st sniff: :-) sample!!! Perfect orange blossom smell! - 2nd sniff: YES
- 154 - 1st sniff: :-) maybe sample- 2nd sniff: not now. Too masculine.
- Lime, Basil & Mandarin - 1st sniff: :-) sample worth - 2nd sniff: YES
- Sweet Lemon - 1st sniff: :-) sample! One of my fave!!! - 2nd sniff: No. Not as special the 2nd time around.
- Sweet Milk - 1st sniff: no. Very different. Perhaps… might be a little nauseating. - 2nd sniff: definitely not! Never!!!
- Vintage Gardenia - 1st sniff: :-) sample! - 2nd sniff: delicious!!! Definitely YES!
- Fresh Mint Leaf - 1st sniff: :-( good, smells exactly like brazilian mint candy, but I wouldn’t wear it. - 2nd sniff: YES. Brings back memories. Love it.
- Sakura Cherry Blossom - 1st sniff: Maybe - 2nd sniff: too soft, no throw. No.
- Nectarine Blossom & Honey - 1st sniff: :-D Wonderful!!! Sample!!! - 2nd sniff: YES
- French Lime Blossom - :-(
- Honeysuckle & Jasmine - - 1st sniff: :-) sample! - 2nd time: couldn't find it
- White Jasmine & Mint - 1st sniff: :-) sample! - 2nd sniff: not now
- Oud & Bergamotte - 1st sniff: :-) sample!!! - 2nd sniff: Yes
- Nutmeg & Ginger - 1st sniff: :-D sample!!!
- Grapefruit - 1st sniff: :-) sample - 2nd sniff: good grapefruit flavor. Maybe. Do I even like grapefruit smell?
- Iris & White Musk - 1st sniff: MAYBE a sample - 2nd sniff: Yes.
Previously unsniffed:
- Blue Agava - too soft, no.
- Blue Agava & Cocoa - :-) 1st impression was of too artificial chocolate, thought “no”. But after a few minutes it smelled delicious! Sample! :-)
- Black Vetiver Café - :-) not sure at first, but sprayed it on my wrist and loved it. Smell stays good.
- Pomegranate Noir - no
