I'm going to visit my mom in the hospital today. She had back surgery on Monday and is recuperating. The hospital is in Toronto, which makes it an excellent opportunity for me to visit with her although the reason for her being so close is not as lovely (although the surgery went well and she's doing fine). My mom doesn't live terribly far away.

Ah tried and true from childhood; scarf across the lower face (oh I hated that so much), snowsuit with hood and cute little snow boots. Layers.

The temperature is actually moderate right now at just under the freezing point. I'm waiting on The Boy to get here and getting a bit antsy as we should be walking to the bus stop as I type this to be able to make the bus that takes us to our train. No word on where he is either *grrrrr*.

Apparently grandbaby #3 was up all night with colic and he's teething. I got a phone call from them shortly after my first reply to you saying that they just woke up. It's actually fortunate that they slept in as the weather is nasty and getting slick.

I also managed to speak to my mom and she doesn't want us travelling in this weather so we'll be visiting her on the weekend.

Now, I have a bonus day off! I need to finish writing the next chapter of Velvet so it's not a bad thing that I'm not travelling around in shit weather.
