Con Report
The con went swimmingly. We had good weather and a great time. I didn't spend much, but the last couple of years I haven't actually been spending much when I go. I think I spent about s much on food as I did stuff to buy *laughs*. And they did something different with the food vouchers this year where your voucher was for a specific venue instead of con wide. I got mine for the TCC, which meant my choices were hot dog or hamburgers. Not supper thrilled with that as I don't like hot dogs and who wants to eat burgers 3 days in a row? But hey, its free food so I shouldn't rally bitch.
I couldn't post about it at the time, but I was the special guest butler in the Cafe this year. It was a blast. I didn't do the after dark show as I was a last minute substitute due to some staffing issues a month before the con. We sold out every show! Me and another Cafe staffer did this thing where we hide in the closet in the room and once all the patrons were in and seated, we "fell" out of the closet in a compromising position. The crowds loved it. We did crack skulls the first time and the back of my head connected with the wall and my knee smacked off a chair, so I suppose that was the "Cafe Injury" for the year. Glad it was so minor considering some of the previous years.
I brought 5 tinies with me and I'd hoped to be able to buy shoes for 2 of them. Nope. There were some tiny shoes, but they were for girls *sigh*. Nassano (my Naga boy) was a huge hit with one of my friends and there might be a naga in her future *snicker*. I ended up only buying a necklace for Nassano and some sneakers for Haniel (one of my mid-sized dolls). I also got a card from a chickie I met on the bus to the con and I'm going to commission her to make Nassno a chain mail vest (she didn't have any in his size). Missed the doll meet on Sunday AGAIN, but that was due to that and the Cafe conflicting schedules. Technically, our last show was done, but I need to help break down the room and pack away our stuff. I could've ducked out and nobody would've raised a stink, but I'd have felt bad about leaving them to clean up and just flouncing off.
The dealer room was busy and crowded as usual. I did a fast go-through on Friday and dashed back on Sunday to get some manga and new fun contact lenses. I didn't even go to artist alley this year *sigh*. It just seemed really busy for me with Cafe stuff. Not that I minded but that's the first time that happened. And I think I've started some sort of tradition as I came home, yet again, with a manga I'd already bought. *sigh*
So, I had a good con and lots of fun with friends. my one arm is really stiff though and I've no idea why as I woke up on Saturday with it like that and that was before the tumble from the closet. I hope its just weird muscle stiffness and goes away soon. I kinda wish I could take today off and just rest, but I have a project at work to push out the door.
