I love Buffy and Spike best when they're fighting side by side so this is my happy place. As for the fantasy and "after effects", Buffy might be having flashes, but I love how the narrative pokes fun at how she should be fantasizing about Angel by all rights since he's her True Love Forever and yet nope, it's Spike. I mean, who doesn't fantasize about Spike?

Hmm, I can't seem to shake off my cynical hat today (for which I apologise - yay for happiness!!), but I'm not sure that's so very obvious a distinction that can be drawn. I can't help but wonder if one of the things making it look 'romantic' is the way it is very heteronormative/missionary-town compared to the Bangel spacefrakking...
