Children Online - A Dilemma

So you walk into your home office and by surprise catch your 13 year old son on your computer. He quickly turns it off and rushes out of the room. He isn't supposed to be using it, and he knows it, so you assume his hasty departure is due to such.

However, when you turn it on you find that his hasty departure was more likely based upon the video that you find loaded into your browser. A video of which itself holds a surprise.

It's not really porn, as you instantly thought, instead it just a girl naked on the screen by herself. To make matters worse, it's someone you know. Well, perhaps that isn't entirely accurate. We don't know each other, we know OF each other.

She is the daughter of someone I know online, and while I have spoken to her once or twice years ago, we don't exactly communicate. However, I do communicate with her mother, and her mother being my friend is the reason I know who she is in the first place.

So the first question that enters my mind is, does her mother know? Should I tell her? I clicked play on the video, hoping for a different angle to verify that she was who I thought she was. I only watched it about 2 minutes, and other than her breasts and naked butt, I didn't see anything. Still, I felt strange even seeing as much as I did once I was sure it was her.

So here I am, wondering if I should just pretend it was never there, and never mention that it existed. Or should I tell her mother. It's not nasty or anything, she a beautiful girl and despite the poor film quality, it's a mild and sexy video (from what I saw of it).

I asked my son about it and he said he was given the link by a friend. Neither of them could possibly know who she is, it's just a coincedence that I do.

So what to do...do I mention it to the mom, and hope she doesn't hate me for it? Or do I just pass it off and act as thought I know nothing? I keep asking myself, what if it was my daughter? Would I want to know?

The answer is both yes and no.

I wouldn't want to know, because I wouldn't want to think my daughter would show her body off to complete strangers like that. I know it's a new world we live in...but that is how I feel. But I would want to know because I'd hate to have some friend tell me one day that they found such a video online. I'd rather be prepared for it than be caught off-guard....

What about you guys? What would you think/do?
