Seasonal Femslash Greetings Story, "Samsara"

“Is that her?” The speaker was a woman, a lawyer, blond, tall and bony like a long legged racehorse driven so neurotic by the demand for speed that even in its sleep it would weave, shake and sweat the calories off. She stared avidly through the one way glass at a dark haired girl slouched over a tattered copy of The Wizard of Oz, her voice and ( Read more... )

I am feeling incredibly sad now... Can't say I've made sense of everything just yet (lot of lines/notes to "read between," e.g. what were the circumstances of the deaths of three Connor generations, why are they infamous, what does this Skynet-less society know of Cameron, etc.), but the sense of loss is so palpable. It really has a presence in the story. All the characters are looking for something in this story, but no one seems to be really aware of the potential fallout of their decisions except for Cameron(...?). I'll have to sleep on this one. Kinda reads like a prologue to a series, which I feel is appropriate since this seems like a significant beginning for this Sarah...

Ah. Just looked up "samsara," and things ate starting to pull together more for me. Maybe it's because "Desert Suite" from the T2 soundtrack randomly started playing on my iPod as I was reading wilkpedia, but I think the concept/idea makes everything even sadder. It's as though Sarah's soul is in karmic limbo-- like the world at present isn't "right," making her life/sacrifices mismatch or something ( ... )

Not nonsensical at all *G*.
Actually I think you really captured a great deal of what this story is about. The idea of karmic limbo, and mismatching is spot on with some of what I've been considering for a follow up.
Thanks for the really in depth comment! I always look forward to yours.

Brillaint! I love the idea of Cameron meeting up with a reborn Sarah. It makes you wonder what happened to her grandfather, most likely John, and where exactly Cameron is going to take her. :)

Thank ye,
So... it looks like you might get some of those questions answered. I'm considering writing a two part follow up to this over the holidays.

*L* It was intended to be a one shot... it really was, but the story keeps eating at me, so I'm probably gonna try and write some kind of follow up over the holidays.
(our)Sarah Connor - John Connor - John's daughter - this Sarah. *G*.

This was incredibly gripping, and it seemed like everything had layer upon layer of meaning to it. The battle with psychosis that Sarah is waging is intriguing and illicits an instant sympathy. But i'm also intrigued by the lawyer and social worker, for reasons I am not yet aware.

Thanks,
I actually really got into the characters of the Lawyer and Social worker... I'm not sure if they're going to be returning in the continuation I'm going to try and write, but I love getting the chance to work with original characters alongside the ones we know and love.

Thank you. Yes I'm sad and yes it hurt, but it's a good clean hurt so yeah, thanks.

I should add "well-written" and all the other stuff (nice presentation of backstory - I didn't notice till I got to the end how much information I'd gathered while I thought I was just watching her pain) but that's kinda taken as read with you. I have no idea what "Care" could be like in the 22nd century but that's beside the point, I really just wanted to say you put the reader right there in the room and it worked.

You're very welcome *G*. I was a little sad writing this myself, but it just needed to be done fore some reason.
Thanks, *G* I've been really trying to work on my description and set ups... and it's nice to hear when it's working.
