That explains it!

Kael's been kind of crotchety lately. I've blamed the heat in part, as he doesn't seem to handle it any better than I do. Also, we've been told that when babies hit new milestones, they tend to sleep less well, as they'd rather be doing whatever new thing they learned. Kael's been crawling for a while now, but maybe it takes time for the novelty to wear off.

Then last night, Kael was chewing on my finger, as per usual. And it hurt in a pointy tooth kind of way. From both halves of his jaw. Turns out Kael is not only not content with just one tooth, but with two teeth either. He now has 4 teeth coming in. And the scary part is the that the two newly discovered teeth aren't even the right ones, in terms of usual ordering - they're not his top front two teeth, but the ones on either side. Which means he may soon have 2 more teeth coming in (or so I reason - I could be wrong). And possibly the corresponding bottom teeth to this new set, as well. Sigh.

On the bright side, the weather looks to be cooling off some :-) And Kael gave us 2 four hour chunks of sleep last night, which is almost something I can live with. And he's still awfully cute :-)

Uh, pretending there's something else in my life besides Kael... Geoff and I have started gradually packing and moving stuff over to our new place. We're planning on packing all non-essentials in a one room per weekend day and one room per 5 weekdays schedule (we actually planned half a room per weekday, but I think that's optimistic). Our new place is basically on the way to work, so dropping boxes off every day works out well. With luck, it will make the final pack and move a much less chaotic affair, with only furniture, electronics, and essential kitchen/bath/clothes to deal with. We'll probably throw out a plea for help on the furniture moving front, with suitable bribes, but we recognize that many of our potential helpers have unhappy backs, are recovering from surgery, or were recently shafted by their so-called friends when they needed help with their move (sorry again!).

This weekend: 8 mile run Saturday, then a 5K run for Race for the Cure on Sunday, followed by a 5K walk for the same. Plus packing. Plus hanging with Amy (Geoff's sister), who will be visiting us for a few days (yay!).

running, kael, moving
