time to RAISE HELL

Jun 04, 2008 01:16

According to a reliable source, Jason will no longer be playing drums on the Idol tour.

Now, before I continue, I just need to point out that I am trying to NOT GET FURIOUS as I type this, because I started feeling really sick a while ago and I DON'T WANT ANY PUKING. But just know... I am a lot madder than I am seeming. I am probably going to feel like I got run over by a bus when I wake up. UH OH.

So, for those of you who don't know: there was going to be a song on the tour sung by Carly with David Cook on guitar and Jason on drums. Sounds fantastic, right?! Well, apparently the Idol producers have SMASHED all dreams of this happening, because they don't want "certain contestants" getting extra time. It's unfair, and all that.

............

Okay. The song was going to count as one of Carly's, so no drama there. David Cook WON the contest, so obviously they would not mind giving him extra time. So basically, in a roundabout way, they are just saying that they don't want to let Jason have extra time.

UMM

Jason came in fourth place. TOP 4. The closer you get to winning, the more time you get on the tour. The Davids are obviously getting the most time, and then who else would need to get more time than Jason? Only Syesha. Does Syesha HONESTLY CARE if Jason is PLAYING DRUMS IN THE BACKGROUND DURING SOMEONE ELSE'S SONG? Highly unlikely.

WHAT. IS. IDOL'S. PROBLEM. When will they just ACCEPT that Jason is loved, popular, TALENTED and just MOVE ON and stop doing these things to him? THE SHOW IS OVER. I understood the manipulation during the show, because they were so set on their David/David finale. I obviously didn't enjoy it, but that's television for you. But THEY GOT THE FINALE THEY WANTED. They got their winner. Why are they still doing these things?? This is the TOUR. The tour is supposed to be FUN. Let the contestants have some fun, for heavens sake! Are they trying to squash all creativity? I don't understand. The Carly/David/Jason number would be a HUGE DRAW. I was honestly more excited for that than Jason's own songs. Just because I know how much fun he would have doing that, and I WANT TO SEE IT! Why would they not allow them to do it? Do they NOT WANT MONEY? Because that would surely help persuade people to buy tickets. Do they dislike Jason that much? They are the ones who put him in the top 24. Why bother if you're then going to treat him so poorly? I didn't want to have to be one of those "IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!!" people, but honestly. Just give the boy some respect, will you, Idol?

I know that this isn't as big of a deal as I'm making it out to be. Jason's got a whole career ahead of him and he can play the drums whenever he damn well pleases for the rest of his life. But I am just siiiiiiicccckkkk of thisssssssss. He's such a sweet person, he doesn't deserve all of this crap. I remember seeing something on Castrocopia like... well, I'll just look it up.

Castropisstivity: The act of being pissed on behalf of Jason, because he's too nice to do it himself.

THAT ABOUT SUMS IT UP. I feel like it's one of those, you know... "a mother needs to protect her children" sorts of things. Although in this case, I guess it's more of a... groupie protecting her fave rave? I cannot wait to see what Michael Slezak has to say about all of this. I hope he makes a HUGE fuss. Last I heard, he was still pissed that Paula never apologized for Paulagate '08, so... I'm pretty sure he will not be pleased about THIS.

Actually, so yeah, people gathered a bunch of email addresses and websites for us to harass - I mean, ASK NICELY for the Carly/David/Jason song to be brought back. I really don't think it matters how we ask, as long as we say SOMETHING, since there's only a chance of things changing if there is an OVERWHELMING RESPONSE. I hope it's possible, but... Anyway, I'll post the list. I really only see the Fox/Idol email addresses as being helpful, though. People like Michael Slezak, Rickey, etc do not need to get notified 345657856958 times. All they can do is be mad like the rest of us. But at least they'll have a bigger audience when they do it.

I'd say the Fox email address, and I guess the last one... would be the only ones that would really do anything. But by all means, harass Ryan Seacrest all you want. And SPREAD THE WORD.

I wish I could organize some big PROTEST outside of wherever the Idol producers might be. With lots of signs. GIVE PEACE A CHANCE. Or in this case...give the peaceful drummer boy a chance.

OH!!! I've been so hung up on the drumming part that I forgot to mention that they also vetoed a Jason/Brooke duet. Apparently they wanted to sing the Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat song. But they told him he would have to get rid of one of his other songs if he wants to do that. The person who posted about this specifically pointed out the "HE." Meaning... Brooke wouldn't have to get rid of a song? I don't know. It's all completely ridiculous.

TIME TO RAISE HELL YA'LL, GET ON IT!!!

A very wise person left a comment on Jason's myspace saying...

There are a couple of adages that are appropriate here:

1. The Customer is Always Right.
2. Give 'em what they want.

We want Jason Castro - on vocals, on drums, solo and in duets. He's final four. He's earned the attention.

Everybody write.

WERD.

Signed,
Lyzz Slaa

PS, I love how the fans are all in a tizzy over this, and what's Jason doing? On myspace, uploading pictures from his homecoming and adding silly captions. Castropisstivity, I'm telling you.
