i have posted very little in the last month, and in truth i've had very little time for crafts since i lost my job since i need spend such time looking for work. but this weekend i got to go on a fiber camping trip and significant progress was made both there and on the trip to wyoming.
these are possibly the ugliest socks in the world. but i love them because they are the closest i have every come to making something completely from scratch. the orange is the coopworth roving i dyed last october and spun. the brown is llama that i processed from the raw fiber. the yarn is both sturdy and quite soft. i have 2 more full balls of the yarn.
this is the gotland i have been spinning. it is very silky and requires a lot of twist. shown here in a rather messy ply
finished skein of gotland. the previous picture is truer to color. very tweedy.
