Suggestion/Plot Bunny
Here's a thought for your 'skin irritation' or 'writer's choice' story....
Apparently during WWII the Norwegians forced to work in laundries for the invading German army, put high potency itching powder in the clothes before sending them back.
They also put it in condoms!
(BTW, Unless/until things get out of hand, I don't mind anyone making plot bunny posts as long as they can be truly universal. Obviously 'write a story where character X does this...' won't work, because we all know what who we're writing about. But if you hear fun ideas for hurt/comfort feel free to post them.)
