oh to be completely earnest or to be utterly cynical. i don't know which i prefer on a person.
unrelatedly:
let's mourn the loss of the late night ntv timeslot. i know there's no official word on cancellation yet but there's probably no way they could manage three 1-hour primetime shows and one late night show. to be perfectly honest (i lovehate this prefacing statement most of the time i see it haaa), i wasn't particularly attached to shukudai-kun, so the loss of the format doesn't bother me that much. it had many shiny moments but i will always like D/GnA and MMA more than talkshows. i will miss the relaxed atmosphere and the amount of freedom they had in promoting silliness and trivialities. they've had the time-slot since mayonaka no arashi, their first variety show. it's also where they developed their show hosting style, and where many of their enduring legends were born.
A no Arashi, O no Arashi, T no Arashi, Ni no Arashi, M no Arashi, failboats, minor sports, chesuto, abandoned theme-parks, riding bikes in the dead of night, watching the sunrise, time capsule, gyakukaiten, stupid aibaland, okama bars, bickering tele-marketers, mogura, oh god the mogura, otagei, kindergarteners love confessions, farting girlfriends, uda-uda, UDA UDA, UDA UDA specials, arashi in pyjamas, sugoroku, haiku vs host, host training, host in waterfall, aiba in waterfall, woobie tiny jun under waterfall, oh mai gahd i... i am damn near tears right now, must stop. those were the days, epic, epic days.
Bye time-slot, you were so very good to us.
i hope they do more location shoots in the new show. we pretty much never get to see them under natural light together anymore do we? they're always under studio lights now, all comfy on a sofa/chair all ~shielded~up other than the occasional throw in the ice-water/styrofoam. anyway, i heard it's going to be improv? haha maybe that's why they gave us that shukudai episode, you know that one with the.. all that stuff. yeah, wigs! i loved that, so maybe it won't be so bad. ntv has a pretty good rep with the variety show programming right?
hahahahhahahahahaha, oh arashi.
i remember the first year or so when i got into them, i was so worried about what would happen when it all stopped, when/if they reach their peak and start to go down. now i've grown more impervious to it. this might be pre-emptive, they might not be at the peak yet and the japanese public might still want more from them, but i think they're already there at the limit. they're basically making over-produced crap and it will start going down. i still love them though, i will never stop loving arashi, hey.
they have to use some mean metal brush to scrape me off of them. i will complain too much, but i'm sticking with this bunch of idiots all the way down.
yep.
so it's waaay late but i've been dead sick the whole week and my sleep cycle is out of whack. so, crappy picture of the day or dead of night as it is accurate:
craned out the window, took picture of full moon, its reflection on lens, tiny visible speck of star, possibly a satellite not checking now, too effin cold outside.
