advent

i hope that you all remember that i love the advent season...
there is no better season in the year - for i am merry and i am sound.

and since yesterday was st. nick's ole day, i am wearing again my santa-hat - till the 26th.
so back in the days when i wore mostly black, that was a very colorful detail in this wonderful season on me...
well, nowadays it still makes people wonder why i do such a silly thing - but i dont find it silly at all. i love this season, and by wearing this hat, i am letting everyone know that i do.

anyway, two years ago my mom got an advent calender from heinzelmännchens, and so i am following the tradition and posting some here... in fact, three a week - and since today is the 7th already you get all three for this week at once (and if you found them here in this journal, once already - then you are a true reader of it and a good friend of mine):

I

"Plinky, planky, plobb,
there was once an elf named Bob.
Bob was a mighty strong elf, as you could see,
nobody wanted to play with him, noboday but me.
So one day we played for hours, minutes, and a second,
he didnt want to stop at all, I reckon.
I got tired and went to bed,
the next day Bob was weak and nearly dead!
He had gotten so small and wee,
that nobody would have seen him, nobody but me.
I gave him food and I game him water,
now he is back to normal size and will also play with Sally, Frank and Walter.

II

"Plinky, planky, plough,
there was once an artist elf named Joe.
his tricks and flics were really awesome,
the crowd cheered whenever he was done.
In every show he lifted either a cock or a cow,
but he would always end with a firework and a bow.
Then one night something terribly happened,
a rocket caught him and flew away rapid!
No one could stop it, and no one could see,
where Joe landed, or where he could be.
You can ask anyone and no one will know,
what happened to him, to Joe and his show.
But I know one who will know the truth.
It's neither Emma, or Jackson, nor Mickey or Ruth.
It's Elvis, in Australia, a kangeroo!
Who got hit by Joe, his rocket, and his show.
Elvis was in great need for a cure,
he was depressed but Joe changed that for sure!

III

"Plinky, planky, plong,
there was once an little elf named Schlomm.
He often played and hid from his parents,
So they looked all over their house, The Flarrent's.
One time, he really hid so well,
that he couldn't even himself tell,
where he was and how he had got there,
now the father was calling for his heir.
When finally Schlomm got himself up, and wanted to leave,
something suddenly caught him by his sleeve.
Panic, angst, chicken skin!
But it was only his onw mommy, Lynn.
She had found her son, who was unharmed:
"Never do this to me once more or i can never again be calmed."

so, my day was wonderful - though i was woken by a gardener downstairs (who vacuums leaves at 8.12am in the morning?) - i got to have a relaxing morning.
then walked through the rain (and you all know how much i love rain :) ..mmmh) got my bike, which i had left in front of my old school, and biked to the house of a kid i used to babysit.
the parents still had a dvd of mine, and i slowly wanted it back so my dad could watch it.
anyway, we talked for over an hour, about uni and kids and kindergardens and music.
and i got a cd, from the dad who wrote most of the lyrics, from 'festland' and a rare nirvana cd as well - oh... and apple pie :)

yesterday i had gone christmas shopping for the young g's. i had to drive all over berlin and went to four stores till i found the present for sophie. but it was worth it... yay.
