today i surfed the web a bit...
and yes i stumpled upon a list of the ugliest technical devices - some of them just old and therefore bulky, but some also just simply ugly.
for example a media- video- and mp3-recorder of the year 2004 that basically looked like an black ampere-meter with about the same meassurements.
also, the "zune" really has a much much worse design, if you compare it to the ipod.
there is even a website out there dedicated to 'hiding your ipod in a zune-box, so that it wont be stolen'.
but thats not my topic today...
its music.
music - you ask - thinking, hey he is a tech, all he cares about music is if the lead female singer is a hottie or not.
well - first of all: wrong - i also look at background female singers :P
and second: i care for music.
thats, by the way, interresting news even for me - for i only realized this in the past months.
back in school i somewhere found the question on the inet: if you had the choice, would you rather loose your eyesight, or your hearing... and back then i was entirely sure that it would be the hearing i would choose to loose (due to the vast informations out there in written form).
but a few months ago (if not to say two), someone told me that that persons life was music. from tip to toe.
and so i asked myself, what part of my life does music embed.
well i came to the conclusion that its a much bigger part than i thought at first.
i mean... its not that i need to listen to music at every single instand in my life - i mean i like it quite, whenever i am annoyed (or reading... or mostly also when working), but really... i also like not only to listen to music (and yes i know that my music taste is really not average - for i listen to some artists nobody else likes, to some that nobody else knows, and to some that are just generally weird), but also to sing.
some of my techs know that i am really bad at singing (as some of my techs can confirm - and others strictly deny), but i enjoy it anyway.
i enjoy it mostly for myself.
i am sometimes singing under the shower (like last week for example when i had the flat alone for me), i sing when riding through the city (not when i am on the bike though... unless i am singing under my breath - for i must say, when i bike i normally bike fast. and then cold air in my lungs is already bad enough - the lack of oxigen in my blood would kinda make the situation worse.), but yes i sometimes sing when i am changing trains, walking (o i soooooo need to walk again), or simply when i am painting or writing.
i like to sing along to horrible songs - and when nobody listens thats really fun. i like to sing by myself. yes... for that i am learning lyrics occasionally.
but i dont sing for others... well... at least not for an audience. i dont do that...
i am tech.
i like music... often i even love music.... but i dont like to perform music for others.
that is reserved for singers and actors alike.
