There are times when she wants to give up. She doesn't want to get her hopes up in thinking he's going to come to her rescue. She's given up on what they were, are, and going to be. She doesn't have courage to leave him. She’d rather push him away. This time she's done it. He wasn't going to rescue her from what she's done.
"Just let me go, and you can live your life,"
She knows that he's had enough, and sees it in his eyes. He looks defeated. He leaves her to do what she needed to do.

She was different when they were alone. She still had her guard up, which did not surprise him too much. But, for a moment, she was his no matter. He was certain that he was going to make every moment last.
Many tried to convince him that he was under her spell, they didn’t know what kind but they were certain he was. Perhaps he was, but he didn’t care. They were enemies, yes, but He trusts his body and knows what it wants.
It was just for a moment. He knew in the end there wouldn’t be a future.

He turned around slowly. She stood, knowing he wasn’t going to help her. She sneered at the Gryffindor. Her guard back up, and gripping her wand tighter; just in case.
“You don’t know, Parkinson,” he answered. Dirt and blood smeared across his face. He found her hiding in one of the classrooms, alive. “All your life you wanted to kill, and yet here you are hiding away; no cuts or blood to tell me you fought for anyone.”

It was as if he hasn’t done it before. He stood in front of her, blank. She would have to admit that he looked cute. It wasn’t as if he had his mouth hanging wide open, but it was close to that. She had to smile inwardly.
She guided his hands down her body, letting them to linger on her hips. She was surprised and yet, flattered by the silence. It’s happened with many other wizards but he was special. She was sure he’s seen better, but she likes the attention nonetheless. She likes him like this, quiet and satisfied.
