Okay if you have not heard of this communtiy allow me to inform you: IT IS AWESOME!
It's a very active community for all Fandoms within the Whedonverse (BTVS, ATS, Firefly/Serentiy, Dollhouse, etc.) You sign up, apply for a team in one of those fandoms (I'm a browncoat=D) and then you try to stop the apocalypse. You stop the apocalypse by earning points, you earn points by participating in the community--writing fic, making graphics, playing games--and doing weekly tasks such as pimping out the community and writing challenges.
