The Start of A New Journal

Well, I thought I would join the ranks of the fabulous friends I have made on the Wedding channel who slowly seem to be migrating here. what I miss most about the WC these days are the girls around to post and chat with, so I will give this a shot as well.

Who We Are

I am Talia, 27 and my Fiance is Ed, 29. We are both from Connecticut but polar opposite ends of the state. We met by chance at a party I didn't want to go to, and he was there with a friend of the host. We instantly hit it off, and have been together ever since.

We started talking wedding and marriage pretty seriously in the summer of 2004, and shopped together for this beauty I proudly wear every day...(minus my wedding band for now of course)

After months of waiting, Ed finally popped the question, before we were getting ready to leave the house for a party. I was completely shocked at the timing, but so excited that Ed surprised me!

Although we looked at Numerous wedding locations across the state, we fell in love with Mahan's Lakeview for it's garden appeal, and formal reception setting. We are having a Saturday evening reception, the attire will be black tie invited. We have choosen a sage green and ivory color scheme throughout.

We will be married in front of the gazebo in a garden ceremony and have the reception in the ballroom follow.

I have choosen to wear this pretty from 2 be bride

and my girls will be wearing Bill Levkoff Style 243 in Euro Celadon

Our save the date cards will be going out to our guests in September, I ordered them from Vista Print and then we are mounting them on sage and cream cardstock

The save the dates coordinate really well with our invitations that my finance is designing. They are currently a work in progress, as we have plently of time for revisions.

I will be carrying a bouquet similar to this one - An exquisite large round hand tied style bouquet consisting of a variety of cream roses (old garden roses, vendella open bloomed large headed roses, spray roses) green sedium, stephanotis with pearl centers, green hypericum berries and interspersing pieces of lemon leaf. Stems mostly wrapped in ivory bridal satin, with the bottoms exposed.

My girls will all carry 25 ivory vendalla open bloom roses flanked with lemon leaf, similar to this

The mom's will carry small bouquets - Small hand held cluster of ivory roses, with stephanotis sprouting from cluster and collared with lemon leaf, top wrapped in ivory satin

My Groom will wear this beauty

and the groomsmen and dads will wear similar with one rose and one stephanotis.

The centerpieces will be a mix of my three favorites, Tall elaborate silver candelabra’s inset with four votive candles, inner bowl brimming with a variety of ivory roses (garden, vendella open bloomed, spray roses, cream hydrangea, green sedium, white lisianthus, green hypericum berries, lemon leaf and trimmed with pieces of trailing variegated ivy.

My cake will look most similar to this one designed by Cakes by Donna, with flowers on the top to match my bouquet.

I think that is enough for tonight. Talk to some ladies tomorrow!
