A plea to all my friends.
If you do nothing else in life, please, PLEASE, don't forget what we were like. We were idealistic and visionary, and best of all, we were willing to risk our asses for what was right. We were EXCITED to protest, do you remember? When was the last time any of us protested? For me, a little more than a year and a half ago. Shameful.
Alex and John (even though you chickened out . . . pussy :-P), do you remember when we were so disturbed by the thought of being drafted that we made actual real plans to move to Europe? I'll be honest -- I don't know how seriously you took them, but I was terrified and excited at the thought of leaving the only land I've ever known to save my life. Scared to leave, but much too scared to stay, I was fucking ready.
What the hell are we doing with ourselves? I went to jail for TRESPASSING. How incredibly low. I hope I never go to jail again, but if I do, I'm going for something worthwhile, not for walking into a god damned church.
