In case you aren't on my MySpace, you missed the big news that I'm back in rehab. I've been going about two months now to get my legs to straighten out. I go three times a week for about 4 hours each day. 2 hours of therapy and 1 to 2 hours of upper body working out.
This is me sitting on the mat without any support. Ok, almost no support. Lisa, my Physical Therapist, has to stay close because my balance is terrible, but its slow getting better. :)

http://txdave.fcpages.com/rehab/P1010003.JPG You may have noticed that my eyes are closed. Thats because my visual perception misses up my balance. My eyes tells me that I'm straight, but I'm really not. So I have to close them to find where I'm really supposed to be.

http://gigermd.com/ for more info. My feet are strapped in and my hands are secured by ace bandages. I use my hands and my feet go on the pedals. I started out going for about 20-30 minutes. Now I usually go between 45-60 minutes. The object is not just the endurence. Theres a monitor above my head where I can watch these boring tourist videos on Northern and Southern Italy, Switzerland and Siccili. At the bottom of the screen theres a line that shows the fluidity, is that even a word?, of your hands and legs. The object is to have a perfectly flat line, but because my legs are so tight, that line is all jagged. I'm working on straightening it out. Kristen gave me the OK to bring in my own videos, but not TV shows. Only shows from the history channel or discovery channel or the like. :)
http://txdave.fcpages.com/rehab/P1010005.JPG They have to tie my legs like that because if they didn't my legs would be out of alignment and that wouldnt be productive. All in all, its a big hassle to get transfered on and off of it then get strapped in and on my way, but its important for my legs.
http://txdave.fcpages.com/rehab/P1010010.JPG Plus, I've been told that I go the longest on it that anyone else and they are paraplagics with huge arms go there too. I'm doing A LOT MORE but I dont have the pictures yet! Once Kristen sends them to me, I'll post them with descriptions included. :)
I tried several times to insert the images but they wouldn't show up, so I did it this way. :)
