After seeing William's post I decided to take a walk around the lake, as I hadn't done so in awhile. It's really pretty right now and you should all go. There are reeds and water plants and the roses and blackberries are blooming, as is the mustard. I also saw a lot of animals, some of which were surprisingly hostile. I saw:
the usual ground squirrels and small birds
a pretty lizard
dragonflies, including a bright red one
water striders and water boatmen in a pond
lots of little frogs like William saw
a lovely Swallowtail butterfly
a rattlesnake, which rattled at me
a hawk, which swooped at me twice
So if you're looking for splendid natural scenery and/or some excitement, swing by the lake; perhaps you too will be threatened by nature's wonders.
