Castle 2x17 - Tick, Tick, Tick
o.m.g. omg. OMG!
Okay, so I have flailed on the phone already to luc_darling, but it seems I have more flailing to flail.
The entire episode leading up to the big finish was fantastic, of course. The dialogue was made of constant win (styrophome temples!).
I loved Castle hero-worshipping the FBI agent, who of course was female and of course is the Federal version of Beckett. Castle so has a thing for women in authority. Beckett becoming jealous was totally in character, because of course she would be jealous. Castle is her annoying observer novel guy!
Castle playing with the big high-tech crime-solving board was awesome, because that's exactly what I would do if I got to use a big high-tech murder-solving board. You so know he totally wants a big board now so he can play with it use it to write novels.
Ryan and Esposito (my super secret friendship-OTP) were hillarious as per usual. I loved them questioning Castle and Beckett about Castle spending the night at her place. You know they totally ship Castle and Beckett like whoa. (My theory is that they run a Nikki Heat fansite and post missives from the frontlines to Rook/Heat shippers. They totally use what they see at the precinct to write their Rook/Heat fic, which they post on their fansite. This is officially canon for me, now, btw.)
I'm saying this right now: I want an episode where the actors who are playing everyone in the Nikki Heat movie come to observe the precinct and get sucked into the case of the week. This episode will only work if the actual actors who could conceivably play everyone guest star as themselves. I want this episode like whoa. If I do not get this episode, I may be forced to write it myself as some sort of fluffy meta-fic, and I cannot get sucked into writing the fluffy meta-fic because that is not the sort of fic that I write, people. Just so we're clear: Show-writers, please write this episode and make it happen. Save me from myself.
Finally, the end. OMG the end. I can honestly say I did not see this coming. (Did not know the episode was named Tick, Tick, Tick, for one thing.) But when they started talking about the FBI agent's kid, I thought she was going to be the one that goes down. But no, instead we got a big ol' explosion at Beckett's. Castle's reaction when he saw the explosion was perfect: horrified. I expect the angst from him next epsiode to go all the way to eleven.
And now I have to wait until freaking Monday to see the thrilling conclusion. *grumble, grumble*
And I have not had a single spoiler for next week, so if you spoil me I will have to end you.
In conclusion: Show, how are you so awesome?
