Sherlock Holmes!
So I went to see Sherlock Holmes last night. Thoughts:
I loved this film. It's one of those films that I'd enjoy even if the plot sucked because the characters were amazing. The plot did suck, but only a little, which doesn't matter because HOLMES/WATSON FOR THE WIN!
The relationship between Holmes and Watson in this film is what will make me rewatch it when it comes out on DVD. Robert Downey Jr's Holmes was awesome: high and crazy and utterly dependent on Watson in a way that I found strangely endearing. Jude Law's Watson, meanwhile, was kickass. No, really. He totally stole the movie and made me love him. He takes Holmes' crap and dishes it back to him so subtly that if Holmes wasn't paying attention (which of course he is) he'd totally miss it.
Their relationship reminded me of everything I love about House and Wilson's relationship (surprise, surprise), but everyone was speaking in British and wearing olden clothes and generally kicking ass and taking names. I knew that the characters would make the movie. And guess what? The characters made the movie.
I am totally feeling a need to dig out my Sherlock Holmes books and read them now.
...After I finish reading Thursday's Child by strangeandcharm , because Holmes/Watson kicks ass, but I just can't seem to stay away from Dean/Castiel.
