AT
So Pene is coming down to the TN to hope on the AT this weekend!!! Which means that I get to see her for like 5 hours (maybe longer if she smells after and needs a shower)!!
Anyway, I have been doing some research on her behalf to make sure she dosen't die on the Trail. This month being March and all, is not the month to be stupid while hiking at 6,000 feet.
I've been talking to everyone down here that does serious hiking and I have had the opportunity to listen to some pretty awesome stories!! And I've picked up some cool "thru-hiker" ligo! "Watch out for that blow down!!"
I can see myself getting cooler by the minute.
Well, anyway, I went out to Mohoney's (which is our local nature supply place) and bought a trail map of the area, to help Pen to plan an path for the hike through Cherokee Wilderness area... and (like the nerd I am) I've now shown it to everyone!!
I have to admitt that its a pretty sweet map... but taking it with me wherever I go makes me fall a few notches on the cool chart.
I've also been reading about bear in the area, and what to do if you have to poo on the trail. Learn something new everyday I swear...
Pene has been recieving messages from me about things to pack, such as, a whistle, rain gear, water proof match case, nylon code, sent-proof bags... the list goes on.
I think its a bit irrational for me to be so excited about this... I'm not even going on the voyage... but I can't wait to have a few visitors!!
