Oh Luna. She's one of my favourite of the HP characters for the way she doesn't seem to care what anyone thinks, but of course she would care what her father thinks, perhaps more so because it's just the two of them. What a lovely little drabble.

I like your icon.

I don't like very many of the kids in Harry Potter, but Luna has always appealed to me. She's just so out there, and completely unapologetic about her oddness. I think she is completely assured in her father's love and approval, and probably thinks of him as a partner in her search for the truth. She would want to make him proud, not to gain his approval as Draco would, but to make him happy. I was trying to think of a non-HP parallel for their relationship, and the best one I could think of was Scout and Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird. Not really sure if that's 100% right, but it's the best I could come up with.
