Twas the week brfore Christmas...........
Hooray! An update.
Fun things first……..
Two weeks ago Ed, the missus and myself went off to the men arena to see Franz Ferdinand. Who were really excellent!!!! Didn’t realise how great and talented they were until seeing them live. We also managed to visit old Orleans which, as usual, was cracking - quite literally, with what I had to eat!!
Mostly then a fantastic night, slightly let down by a “bus replacement service” for our journey back to Huddersfield, Fucking trains eh??
After that we had both Lauren’s mum and dad and my mum over for a meal in our new home. Separate occasions, only because we only have a small “dining” table and four chairs! Both good nights, fantastic food cooked by my better half.
Then last Wednesday it was off to Manchester again, with the usual bunch and Lauren’s sister to see the mighty Foo Fighters. Ed drove there this time due to the transport problems of last time. Went to pizza hut, where I’ve not been for a long while. Its still a rip-off - £3 for a bottle of beer!!!!!!!!!!
The Foo’s were amazing. I’ve waited to see monkey wrench played live for so long. Considering they were promoting a new album, they played a lot of older stuff, which was no bad thing. Ten years on mind and still a brilliant band!
Shitty things….
Well Work really. Not only has my manager resigned it seems we will definitely NOT be getting a replacement until after Christmas - if at all! So a man down, me doing two people’s jobs, getting paid jack shit! And me having to put up with the other complete idiot that works in the warehouse. Then last week a silver lining. We had a new starter. Seems to have picked it up quite well and got into the job. Unlike the usual bunch of retards or lazy students we normally employ. But then what happens? For the busiest weeks, xmas and new year, we have another staff member off sick. Fucking useless! So I guess I’ll still be doing my forty hour plus weeks well into the new year.
Bastards!
And this all meant that my day off was pushed back from Thursday to Friday amd then to Saturday. Which was bollocks at the time but I have had the whole weekend to myself for the first time in ages. So that bit worked out ok in the end.
On a lighter note, I’ve managed to fill my fridge up with sixty eight beers, some alco pops and some wine in preparation for our xmas eve little get-together.
I’ve also managed to get all my Christmas presents bought before the last week, probably for the first time in my life although some haven’t arrived yet!
