New Year, new attempt at resolutions

Jan 08, 2015 09:22

I don't think anyone is even here anymore, livejournal-friends-wise, but it doesn't really matter to me. One of my New Year's resolutions is to journal more - whether that be in a paper journal or here electronically, doesn't matter. I think reflection and writing is therapeutic and important for growth, and I want to do more of it this coming year.

I also want to write a good dissertation chapter, drink 64 oz of water daily (so far so good), give a good conference presentation in Madrid this month, read more for fun (I'm currently reading Piper Kerman's Orange is the New Black, and next is Amy Poehler's Yes Please), re-read LOTR (it's been TOO long), finish the quilt I started awhile back, make at least one of the albums I've been planning to make for too long now, get better at Arabic, use up my 10 pass at Yoga by returning to the studio after months of inactivity, and make a dent on the 'St. Louis bucket list' Casey and I created recently. I figure if I make a whole bunch of resolutions, I'm bound to fulfill at least a few of them.
