TODAY WAS AWESOME.
8:00 - wake up!
We ate breakfast, got all bundled up, and hit the road for Sundown Ski Resort in Dubuque Iowa for their College day. BEST. DECISION. EVER. We rocked out in the car.
Got there and skiied until 4pm! NO ONE WAS THERE! WE OWNED THAT HILL. OWNED IT. ALL TO OURSELVES. Good cause i hate people. I want to remember the following things/people/funny happenings:
ATTIRE: Elena's snowpants - for which i am eternally grateful. and that weird neck thing that made me feel like a fleece cowboy. Also, Julia and I have the same mittens! I still love my hat. a lot. I bitched a TON about my boots and how heavy the skis were.
EMPLOYEES:
(1) Cute guy who was working the chairlift before his lunch break that we tried to befriend. "Yessssss"
(2) HOT MAN in the booth at the top of the hill, who was obviously writing down what to say to Julia because he was shy.
(3) The funny guy who talked about catching the kids messing with the cocoa machine, and taking their passes
(4) The other chair lift girl who sang along to her music, and said, oh! you have a face! it's pretty! Hahahahaaha.
FELLOW SKIIERS:
(1) the old couple with the puppy, who was left in the car.
(2) The Dad teaching his adorable tiny son that Julia 'helped' in the time course. His skies were tied! and he screamed when he went too fast.
(3) the Dad and two sons that didn't do the slaloms on the time course! Cheaters!
(4) The HUGE GUYS THAT CAME. They were beginners. they were so big. One of them encouraged me from the chairlift when i accidentally was faced with moguls. "i don't even KNOW that many big guys!!!"
(5) those 14 year old boys that hit on me and Julia (we were being really immature)
boys: how old are you girls?
me: twenty. how old are you?
boys: oh. fourteen.
THINGS JULIA AND I LAUGHED ABOUT:
(1) Fucka Fucka Epsilon
(2) Babybel chesses/ Baby Jesus - ski equipment
(3) How awesome we are and what an adventurous couple we are
(4) what poles are for (mental?)
(5) boogers and farts cause we're immature.
(6) oh yeah, the movie-awesome fall. I hope julia's cranium is okay.
(7) Wyoming? Edinburgh? How far north are we?!
(8) "I have a sports related question!" - me
(9) I drafted my yearbook message
(10) Woooah! that's good squishy.
(11) idk, lots of stupid shit. mostly other people. it was a lets-judge-strangers day. we're such bitchy thetas
SKIING:
(1) Julia and I did Gunbarrel, thats right, a BLACK DIAMOND. We did it thrice, and never fell! WOOH. But i did get spun around weird once and twisted my knee a bit. But i stayed in control.
(2) BULLET was my favorite Run. Nice steep short blue. sweet.
(3) My best time on the time-course was a 21.06 - Much better than my first run of a 25.63!
(4) Our main runs: Bullet, the road, time course, or some variation of the main run.
(5) rek'lis
(6) i can't believe how empty it was. That was the icing on the cake.
FOOD:
(1) YUM LUNCH Chili, Mozzarella sticks, and OJ. Julia totally devoured her burger.
(2) Cocoa Break! with German Chocolate Cake, which was one of the best decisions we've ever made.
What a fun bonding experience with my Julia. We are pretty evenly matched as far as skill when it came down to it, and we talked about how cool it was that this was something we could share and do together. We could bring our friends, and that would rock too. But it was nice to enjoy Julia-Amy Time. We laughed so hard. We're totally doing it again sometime.

Driving back
more rocking out in the car. Showers were like, a heavensent after being all bundled up, and then we went to dinner in the ratt with heather and watched the pledging lip syncs. I'm so glad i'm not pledging. i had way more fun skiing. The fall lip syncs were a little better i think, but there was plenty to be amused by this time around too. The Skys WON!!!!! It was well deserved. They like to demonstrate how athletic and virile they are by doing acrobatics and breakdancing, which is usually impressive. Inspector Gadget was cool too. Brion's shirt was t-i-g-h-t, and Bryan had a hot hot dance solo that made me want to go clubbing with him.
speaking of dancing, afterwards we escaped to Dows 216 (me, Heather, and Mark) and had a hot hot hot "Fucka fucka epsilon" dance party that was a total blast. Much singing, much dancing, not much packing or cleaning, which was the original intent. Mark watched us. it was hot.
What a fun day. And what fun my weekend seems to promise! Tomorrow - Bettendorf for more Roomie Bonding Spring Block Break 2006!
ALSO: Sammi Krider will be in the GREAT STATE OF IOWA in two weeks!!! OMG guys, OMG.
