Here's what I wore on my great day today:
Rose Dress: H&M
Little White Sweater: Gift from Grammie
Flower Belt: Pac Sun
Berry Tights: Marshall's
Socks: American Eagle
Boots: Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse
Purple Bracelet: Pandora, Gift from mother in law
Purple Necklace: Cornell Graduation gift from Grandma
White Earrings: Spain Honeymoon
This outfit was very comfortable for teaching early in the morning indoors, and late in the afternoon outside without a coat. However, I had considered wearing the dress and tights with this more matchy-matchy sweater and jewelry instead:
Purple Sweater: Forever 21
Coral Earrings: SilverSpeck via Amazon
I feel like this later outfit is an example of what happens when you buy lots of clothes in similar colors. I have a lot of pink/coral, purple, and aqua in my wardrobe. Sometimes I'm tempted just to pile on everything that matches, and it ends up being too much purple. I don't know if that's the case here, and as much as I like this outfit, I went for the less bulky cream sweater and brown belt with just purple tights and purple hints in the jewelry, rather than being clad head to toe in these two closet-dominating two colors. I'll probably wear the later outfit someday soon, on a day it's not nearly 70 out!
What I like about both these outfits is that they remind me just how much more comfortable I am layering and mixing things up than I probably was a year or so ago. I have so much more fun getting dressed these days and learning to come up with new and different outfit combinations makes my closet feel twice as big as it did previously. Yay.
Which combo do you like better?
