Busy Break!

Christmas in Bettendorf was nice. Tons of relaxation and plenty of nice presents from the Bolands. And it was a white Christmas! I think one of the nicest moments was on Christmas morning when Casey and I bundled up to take Charlie out for a walk in the snow after presents and breakfast. He loves the snow and he was bounding around in it - just a really nice Christmas moment.

I am so pleased Kathy really liked the wedding album I made her. I was really excited about giving it to her, and am so glad it came in time. She showed it to everyone at Christmas and even took it over to the neighbors to show them. It was nice to be able to share the album with Casey's grandparents, who weren't able to make it out to the wedding. The album came out really nice and I'm so looking forward to making a big one for myself. I dropped off the list of pictures to the photographer for the fancy artsy album they'll make, but only about 70 photos go in that one (Sammie & Mom helped me make the final cut down from about 700!) and I'd like to make myself a bigger album that really tells the whole story of the day and can incorporate pictures from friends and family as well.

Break has been busier than expected. I was working on grades until the morning of the day I left for CO, then I was there visiting family and driving to Boulder a few times to see Julia, Bryce, Heather, Sammi, and Dave. Too bad about missing Ashley and Steven though. "Fake Christmas" was really fun with family, though I did miss them a lot on the actual holiday. I've spent Christmas with the Bolands the last two years now, and I think next year I want to be sure and get tickets for me and Casey to be in Colorado for the holidays. Still gotta figure out what to do with the dog when we travel...

Anyway, got home to St. Louis after a far-too-short trip to Evergreen, only to unpack, clean, and repack for the Christmas with the Bolands! We do xmas eve with his grandparents, xmas with both grandparents at Casey's house, lunch at BWWs with Lindsey and Bryce, a movie on xmas with Bryce, and VI Breakfast with Lindsey and Kelly. It was all really nice, and it sounds like we were quite busy, but there was actually a LOT of just sitting around talking/snacking/watching TV time. Felt good to just relax and do nothing and talk for hours at a time.

Got back last night, and now I have til Friday of just break-time. No busy visiting or traveling, just winter break at home in St. Louis. Come January I have to write that final paper for Joan's class... but I've decided not to worry about it until 2011, which has alleviated the annoyance of worrying about getting it done.

Today I've kept myself busy with apartment work, which I actually find very fun. Lots of cleaning and organizing and throwing excess junk away that piled up over the course of the semester. Opened up a ton of closet space - woohoo! Feels so good to get everything so orderly and organized!

Okay, back to working on the closet! Hope everyone had happy holidays!
