THE DAY I finish my section on the Vikings sailing and settling across the North Atlantic... I catch wind of this article:
http://uk.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUKL0882166120080408 It's about a crazy man, who built a replica Viking ship out of 15 million popsicle sticks and plans to sail it on the Viking route across the Atlantic. He's cheating and using radar and stuff though. But still, the Vikings were expert sailors and yet many of their boats foundered at the mercy of the sea making that trip... seems like a dangerous idea to me.
