Lots and lots of reading tonight! Miller must think we don't have lives. Luckily for him, when it comes to me, he's right, so I get the homework done.
Today I'm actually starting to feel LESS sick. It's exciting really, because I've pretty much been perma-sick since I saw Casey in And Baby Makes Seven with various ailments. I had that flu virus and then strep (or tonsillitis who knows), and then a sinus infection. GREAT. Two rounds of antibiotics later though (I wish they still gave Amoxicillin to adults in the delicious "pink medicine!" that stuff was the BEST as a kid. You almost hoped for an ear infection after swimming in Lake Zurich when you got that as medicine...), I'm starting to feel alive again.
Anyway, the main news of the week that has dominated our table is of Dave's withdrawal (aka expulsion -"you can't fire me, I quit!") from Cornell. It has come as quite a shock, considering the circumstances are so serious, and so crazy that they're almost hard to believe. I disliked the creep for two years, cause he's an asshole, but a lot of my friends were close to him and so this year I thought to myself, oh maybe he's not so bad, and then BAM we find out all of this crazy shit and we feel totally duped and betrayed. Weird.
Turns out he's a compulsive liar who faked cancer to gain sympathy (Wow never thought I'd get to say THAT one again in my life!), we're not sure what we knew about him is true or not true because a lot of it turned out to be basically a lie or exaggeration, he lied about tons of stuff, he threatened Jamie over email, he impersonated a Sony employee among other things, he threatened Jamie with a knife and punched her in the face, AND tried to force himself on Ariel when she was hysterical one night. WHAT THE FUCK. !!!!! Whether he's a liar or not the fact that he abused Jamie is all I need to know to thoroughly hate him forever (though, not like I ever liked him at all in the first place).
Dan's sought to have him barred from campus, he supposedly is in North Carolina but Sammi thinks she may have seen him in the library the other day. It's just all so surreal and creepy. People at the table are dealing with it in a variety of ways. Jamie's scared but relieved that things are finally getting done, Dan is surprisingly proactive and totally on board with the no contact thing that we've all advised. The girls at the table like Kaleigh, Julia, myself, Jenna, and Ariel were very quick to believe Jamie and all that we've learned in the last few days, and are totally on board with getting rid of this person. Some of the guys like Lucio and BC are taking more time to process the whole fiasco. I'm sure its hard for a lot of them to confront the fact that someone they considered one of their best friends is so mentally disturbed and did so many terrible things and lied to them again and again. I'm pleasantly surprised at how rationally Daniel is handling it all.
Ugh, just creeps me out that we don't know where he is, and that he may still be in the area. Chaplain Catherine is coming tomorrow to talk to our table, considering how close so many of them are with her, and how much she knows of the situation, I think that will be a really good experience. Gotta be sure to be at lunch.

In other news, Mortar Board auction was today, and they raised $1006 dollars, half of which is going to the library. Maybe Mortar board is good for something after all. I thought it was funny when they randomly auctioned off 2 hours of time with Doug and Paul! Hah.
I didn't go to dance today. I didn't really have to go, they didn't need me for cha-cha or anything, and Jeanna was there from exec, but I still feel wracked with guilt about it... I hope Jenn and Lucio had a good turnout.
