Today started out simple enough. Same old thing, get up, go to work, feed the kid, change the kid...ya know.
My realtor called this morning and said an agent wanted to show the house today @ 5. I was all...ok. So I come back over here @ 4:30, the kid in tow. I have to put the dogs in the backyard, do a little straightening up, and then troll the neighborhood, waiting for them to get done so I can let the dogs back in and lock up.
(I can't just use the lockbox, because of the dogs. I don't want them escaping or jumping on someone and scaring off potential buyers, so I have to come over first and make sure they're taken care of.)
Well, it's 5:15 and still no one has shown up. The kid is growing impatient with my shenanigans....I call said realtor to make sure that everything's still on. She says yes, but that when a showing is scheduled, there's not really a set time. They could show up anywhere between 5 and 6.
I'm sorry, what? I didn't realize that realtors worked on a different time warp than the rest of us. When someone tells me they're coming at 5, I expect them at 5.
Then a few minutes later, she texts me (with lots of sorries) and said that they just cancelled. At 5:30.
So I've disrupted the kid's schedule for people that didn't even have the courtesy to show up.
I still don't think I've processed all the ways that I am angry about this....
selling my house,
mad as hell
